Irwin is an excellent mentor, very passionate and loves teaching piano. He is very delightful. It has been 2 months since my wife, son and I started piano lessons with him, its amazing how much time he spend with us, just to make sure we get the right note and right length of that note. He is very patient but strict at the same time. Very flexible schedule and we really recommend him

When my daughter first started lessons as a beginner with Irwin mid-pandemic, she had just turned 13, and we visited him in-person at his studio because my daughter needed his personal training on proper posture and hand-placement. After about 6 weekly lessons, she finally felt confident with having lessons over the phone. He calls promptly at the agreed-upon time, and they have a 30 minute lesson over the phone. He hears and knows how every note that should be played, and can explain to her how it should be done if she’s doing it wrong. It amazes me what she’s capable of now. After just over

Not a good instructor for young children. His patience isn’t good at all. He kept raising his voice at my daughter, and genuinely getting angry and upset with her. Sometimes pushing her finger on the piano keys aggressively if she didn’t know which key was next. It made me very uncomfortable. Maybe he’s better with adults, but definitely not with children!

I came to Irwin to learn how to sight read music. Although I've played piano and guitar for 20 years, I never learned how to read. Although it has been slow going, as I am now in my 30s, I am happy to say I am now half way through the Shaum sight reading books and am able to pick up easy pieces sometimes on my first try! I don't practice nearly as much as I should, but Irwin is okay with you learning at your own pace. I love his easy going demeanor, and jokes. He also sometimes has inside information on the pieces you're learning, as he had quite a career himself in the music industry in Hollywood

I studied with Mr. Irwin in 2007 before studying piano performance and composition in college. Now, as a professional musician for many years I can say that I learned more from Mr. Irwin in 3-4 months than I did it college. He is a piano’s player, piano’s player. Wonderful teacher and genuinely nice man!!! Please personally take lessons from him or sign your child up. You won’t regret it. Irwin is absolutely the Maestro when it comes to teaching piano to adults and children. He also is a composer and his music/lyrics will literally bring you to tears by the beauty of his words. His sense of humor is warm and his method of confidence building and teaching is most appreciated. I'm thrilled I met him and am his student. If you're on the fence as an adult, just do it - it is so worth it!

I have been taking lessons with Irwin for about 3 months now and it has been nothing short of an amazing experience. His learning plan is flawless, in only one month I was able to read music. Obviously I practiced every day from 30 min up to an hour. But Irwin is truly an exceptional teacher. He has been playing, composing, and excelling on the piano for 50 years with many name stars!! His personality is gracious and very entertaining as he likes to relate short jokes with the songs we struggle in to make our learning experience more fun. I truly recommend anyone who wants to learn to play piano

Irwin is my second piano teacher as an adult, and I'm so glad I found him before I got very far into my learning. In my first lesson, he showed me how to fix a bad habit I had already created of twisting my hands when playing some chords. He is also teaching me to really read music, while my last teacher let me get away with writing the note names on sheet music. Irwin is also patient and encouraging. I feel confident that I am learning a strong foundation to build upon as I get further into my learning. I would definitely recommend Irwin to anyone of any age who wants to learn piano.

Irwin Witebsky is an excellently-seasoned highly professional piano teacher. My daughter is 7 years old with no prior piano experience and she is learning how to play very well thanks to Irwin. He is very engaging, adaptive to the students level, highly interactive and his teaching style is great. In my daughter's own words, "He has patience and he's very nice. I like that my mom and dad can stay in the room at my lesson with me." I highly recommend him if you are considering hiring a piano teacher.

I am a beginner in music and wanted to learn Piano. I found Irwin and he is really professional. I brought an Eastern piece of music and he played it perfectly at the first time. He is very patient when it comes to teaching and I like his way of teaching. Other teachers teach you to just translate the music sheet into letters first, but he taught how to read from the music sheet from the first day. He inspires me even more to learn Piano.

Irwin is an AMAZING teacher! I have taken piano lessons for almost two years by another instructor and decided to leave secondary to not progressing. In the eight months that I have been taking lessons from Irwin, I have far surpassed where I was with my last instructor. Not only do I look forward to practicing, I "know" how to practice. Irwin is competent, highly talented, and knows how to relate to his students, making them feel more at home. I can't say enough good things about him.
