Dirty River Bicycle Works
I decided to open my own bike shop because I have always loved riding and working on bicycles. Before opening the shop I worked on and sold bikes for 17 years. I studied repair, maintenance, efficient operations, and performance since I started working on bikes in 1999. There is a void in Downtown Akron which I hoped to fill by opening my shop.

The best bike trail in Ohio passes right through it and the number of bike lanes and cycle paths are increasing every day. Akron is the gateway to endless outdoor exploration starting with the Towpath and continuing into the Metroparks and the National Park. I am excited to provide a truly exceptional service experience that is sincere, helpful, personal and fun.
Services
All-City's goal is to make a significant contribution to the equipment and culture of urban cycling. We are a company of riders making products for other riders. We share a lifelong passion for the machines, the people who ride them, and the positive changes both can affect in this world. Rather than burying the magic of riding under excessive technology and performance demands, we try to heighten the rider's experience.
As a highly versatile touring bike, the Bridge Club hits the sweet spot that separates on- and off-road excursions. The simplistic design makes it fully adept to handle a full rack and pannier setup, frame bags, or any combination of the two. It doesn't feel sluggish on paved shortcuts, but can also hold its own on dirt detours.

Lowside is the bike that gets you across town for a quick rip on singletrack, then over to the bar for a night out. Your BMX Bike All Grown Up Lowside is like the grownup version of the bike you rode when you were a kid and still had hopes and dreams and some semblance of ambition. It's just as happy riding singletrack as it is parked outside your favorite drinking establishment.
Straggler is a bikepacking-inspired road/gravel bike mostly at home on pavement but ready for trail duty when called. Born on Gravel. Raised on Pavement Straggler is tuned for cross-over exploration on a wide variety of terrain conditions. It's a day-tripper and a weekender. It's a "rough road" road bike, a cyclocross bike with no pretense about racing, a utilitarian townie, a light-duty touring bike and an all-weather commuter.

Best bike shop ever. Always super helpful and friendly, and they do a tremendous job on tune ups. Definitely the best tune up in town.

I am a big believer in finding the positive in every situation and this is a good example!

I walked into many bike shops in the Akron area and was dismissed or made to feel "less than" because I am only a casual bike rider and truly don't have much knowledge.

When I walked into Dirty River they instantly made me feel at ease. I worked with Chris to try several bikes and take them for a spin. He provided me with all of the information should I choose one of the bikes I tested. I ended up leaving and ultimately, found another bicycle at another business that I ended up purchasing

Ryan and the crew at Dirty River know what a bike shop really should be. None of this silly fluff. Fair prices and lots of help. Not one sneer or sideways glance even when asking noob questions. I don't even bother with the other bike stores anymore. I hope they never change their recipe of how a bike shop should be run.
Thanks Dirty River!

Took my newly self assembled bike to this shop because i just could not understand why it wasn't working properly. The gentleman i spoke with took a quick look at it and immediately broke down what things needed to be adjusted and how. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I left my bike with them (about 11:30 a.m.) and it was finished same day around 2:30 p.m. Very reasonably priced. I will definitely go back for any and all bike needs.

This place is awesome! They weren’t pushy about sales, they had a lot of options, they fixed my tire on my bike and even gave me some really great advice about bike care/hardware upgrades. I really enjoyed my experience and have already referred a few others here.

The owner gave me a hand selecting a product that could help me keep hydrated and sugar levels up through long endurance activities. He really knew his stuff. The other employees were also knowledgeable and never pushy.
I'm looking forward to this being my go-to bicycle shop. They do frequent rides from the shop into the Cuyahoga Valley because they are just feet away from major bike paths.
This is a small business you can feel good supporting.

This place is the bee's knees. They have tons of stuff in stock bikes, bag, tires, anything you need. I do you need a frame? They got it. My girlfriend and I both bought frames, they switched all my Hardware to the new frame with ease. They custom built a bike for my girlfriend that's phenomenal. I would like to thank everybody at Dirty River.

Had a custom bike build last year with Dirty River and the bike was perfect for me (see pic).! After 3000 plus miles and two biking trips planned for the following weeks, rear derailleur broke so I went and saw Otis. Went out of his way to quickly put on new chain, cassette and rear derailleur so I could have my bike for the trips. Awesome bike shop, awesome people who work there, but most importantly, real bike guys who are real bike experts, unlike many other places. Would highly recommend to anyone buying, building or maintaining a bike.

We had a great experience buying a quality bike here the other day. Don't expect to go in and get a "Kmart" bike (to quote the owner) but we got great service, added a couple extras and they installed them with great detail and care. Bikes are their passion and you can tell. If you need bike repairs, they will do a great job! Thanks guys!
