I had a GREAT experience bringing my road bike to Blue Heron Bikes! It had been in storage for about 2 years and the bike technician explained everything that needed to get fixed in a concise and comprehensive way. He also gave me options on parts to buy and explained each part and their function thoroughly. Definitely coming back for sure! And the price was mad economical in comparison to other similarly rated shops!

I'm not a bike person myself so this review will be written through that lens. I will say that we received excellent customer service from Lucas last week. My kid's bike had a repair/ replacement of a part. It took about 20 minutes and Lucas did not have to do the replacement then and there but he did that day. He made recommendations about the bike's other maintenance needs but did not push hard for more service or purchases. The cost was reasonable too. I did call in advance and another staff member did warn us that they might not be able to see us then and there (may need to make

My husband has been an avid bike rider/commuter since we moved to the Bay Area, but I have never been confident in my skills. We happened to stop by Blue Heron Bikes today, and their knowledgeable staff helped me choose a bike that I feel comfortable on, and that gives me a little help to keep up with my hubby. I've been riding a Yuba Mundo for 10 years 5 days a week to and from work. I took my bike in for a end to end tune up and recommended upgrades. After the work Blue Herron did I feel like I have a whole new bike. I had been taking my bike to a more corporate chain store. The difference is really striking. Each time I called the folks were patient and they had notes on what needed to be done. When I picked the bike up everything had been done! No complaints. I'm super grateful.

I have been in bike stores all over the world... And this is top notch.
I'm not even a local and they treated me like I was one of the family. At least four people came outside to ask me if I needed help. Ray... the one who worked on my bike, went above and beyond the call of duty at making my bike perfect.
Not only are they all so friendly but Ray has a knowledge of Bike Friday... which most stores don't know anything about. The owner came out as well and he was Equally as attentive and friendly.

I feel so lucky to have this as our local bike shop. I've purchased two bikes her over the past few year (a city bike and an e-bike/cargo bike), and accessories along the way. Their selection of bikes for commuting, family, and cargo/e-biking is excellent, and their service is phenomenal. I appreciate the outdoor-only shopping/service during the COVID pandemic!

I was biking to the bank and ended up with a flat tire a block away from Blue Heron.
The people who work there are super nice! A guy helped me immediately and spotted a nail in my tire. Oops. He replaced my tube super fast. He even fixed my frame, which was rubbing against my tire.
I'll definitely be back if my bike needs a tune-up.

Bought 2 brompton bikes here (not at the same time) and have been very happy with them. We've had these bikes for years now and they're very dependable. The staff are friendly are very knowledgeable about these types of bikes, and we go here to have our bikes maintained. The store is also strategically situated next to a bike path which is very convenient for testing out their bikes. They have an amazing selection of other types of bikes and bike accessories too! The Bay Area is lucky to have this shop! Keep up the good work!

Brought my bike in for just one broken spoke. "You need a new wheel" is what I got from them. Took my bike down to mike's bike and got it fixed and tuned in 40 minutes or so (no appointment!). Working perfectly as it should. Saved about 80 dollars and a full day. Wouldn't recommend this place unless you know exactly what you need/ don't need.

This is epitome of a neighborly bike shop with friendliness and service. Everyone here wants to help. We have a special customized bike for a child with physical needs that needed adjusting. They went out of their way to make sure it was done right. Will support this place as long as they or I am around. Long live small businesses!

This store is pretty far from where we live, but they were one of the few that had both of the two electric cargo bikes we were interested in and they sounded more helpful than the other places I called. They were indeed friendly and helpful in person as well. They have a wide selection of electric bikes and are generous with their test rides. They also have us a bit of a discount in return for spending the savings on some accessories. :)
There is a bike path and some moderate hills nearby, so you can get a good feel for the bikes.

Exceptional service. Required service on repairing the devil of all devils- British- Sturmy- Archer gear on my Raleigh 3-speed. Joe the mechanic fit me into the schedule and repaired my bike. I broke down and finally purchased a spring Loaded Brooks saddle for it and he too, installed it. Great shop. Will return.

Great cargo bikes for kids! Awesome selection - i know it's not easy to stock so many varieties of big cargo bikes. Sales staff seemed knowledgeable, and the bike was great.

Wow! this store and the people who work here are amazing! If we could give this place a 6th star, we would!
We bought two electric bikes (Gazelle CityZen T9) and the service from the first second on was nothing short than outstanding!!
We felt a bit shaky about the large expense, but we quickly learned that with this store and Rob, the head store person, we can buy here with confidence knowing that we will be taken care of, no matter what would happen with our bikes.
We liked the sitting position on a different electric bike, but loved the strong Bosch motor, battery and disc brakes on the CityZen

Bob, the owner of Blue Heron, is amazing and super helpful. We bought our cargo bike from him back in 2012 and we are still coming back year after year to buy our kid's bikes, parts, and accessories. The team at Blue Heron are awesome b/c they are very helpful with advice for the DIY kind of bike mechanic.

Rob was super helpful to my wife and I when we stopped in to shop cargo bikes for our family. He patiently let us test ride multiple bikes and was very knowledgeable about the different models they sell. He was never pushy or tried to oversell us on something we didn’t need but rather was very accommodating to us. We left very happily with a new cargo bike and our whole family is thrilled with our new car-replacement!

Brought a kids bike that I bought used for a tuneup. They took a look at it and told me I didn't need it and that only a couple things needed to be done. And also that there was a 2 week wait for tuneups.
They fixed his brakes and adjusted his fork all for under $20. They also did an overall checkup and let me know everything else was good. This was done in 30 minutes while I waited.
I would highly recommend this place.

Rob and the excellent crew at Blue Heron have kept me rolling on two fold-up bikes over the last 4 years. Biking 40-50 miles a week, they've saved my bacon a bunch of times and kept my old (seriously used) beater bike alive at least a year longer than it had any right to be. I gladly bought my new (excellent) fold-up bike there (at the same price as REI and the distributor) just over a year ago and have loved it, and the service they've provided, since day 1. They're super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. A local shop that knows the neighborhood and its people and all at a totally fair price

I use an unusual mountain bike style wheelchair. Blue Heron Bikes has been my go to spot for repair parts and modifications. I have gotten Schwalbe tires, racks, and other parts. The staff is very helpful in getting these items. The service is better than any other shop I've gone to. They also are decent in price.

This is my first review. I'm a big fan of Blue Heron Bikes. I've been there twice now. The first time was to buy a bike rack for my son's bike. They performed the work on-time and and managed to save me a little money at the same time. The second time I brought in my road bike for a complete tune-up. They took on the project with great attention and care. I got a call when the bike was ready. I'm really happy with their work and recommend them highly.
