We are owner/operators Hugh Prifogle and Brian Perlinger. We are ASE certified master technicians who have been working together since 1989 and have been servicing customers in the NW Austin area since 1991. When you bring your vehicle to our shop, we are looking to make a long term relationship. Many of our customers have been with us so long that their children are now also our customers.
We will never pressure or recommend repairs or services that are not absolutely needed, or required by the manufacturer. We do proper diagnosis and give exact estimates on the services or repairs that you need. All of our repairs have a full 12 month, 12,000 mile nationwide warranty. Our goal is to make your vehicle service and repair as easy and cost effective as possible.

I was referred to Austin Auto Techs after a recurring problem with my initiated the check engine light. I live on the area tho had always taken my car to a chain for the oil changes and never established a mechanic for my needs. I have now! Thank you to Auto Techs for amazing customer service, great efficiency and cost conscious. I am so happy and thankful to have Austin Auto Tech for a hone mechanic for my Bre (my vehicle) !!!

Austin Auto Techs continue to provide great service! I recently came in for a minor emergency repair and Allen kept me informed during the whole process with time frames and options. It's really nice knowing we have good trustworthy mechanics we can rely on for any vehicle issues. I definitely recommend these guys 10/10. (I drove I 35 during rush hour, that's how much I like these guys!)

These guys are super nice, super accommodating, and very professional. I have come here a couple of times for different things and always recommend this auto shop to others. This is the most honest auto shop I have ever been to. They'll give you a heads up on things that they find with your car, explain the issue in detail, and leave the decision up to you. No pushy sales pitch. I don't take my car anywhere else, even if it just needs an oil change.

I came here to get a used car I was buying inspected. They were very flexible with scheduling an appointment; I called in the morning if I could come in at some point in that afternoon, and they said they can do anytime, as long as I called ahead 30 mins before I showed up. They worked reasonably quickly, and it was reasonably priced. They gave a great report, and even told me about something that I would not need to fix, but might be something a shop in the future would try to charge me to fix. Great experience, no trouble!

This place is great. I have been using them for around 10 years now on three different cars. A few members of my family, and many of my coworkers have used them as well. They are always very helpful, their prices are reasonable, and I have never had any issues with the work they have done.
They have never up-sold me on unnecessary maintenance. Any time I have had to use other shops or the dealership for whatever reason, I have always regretted it, and a few times had to have them fix what was done. Been going to this mechanic shop for years and through 2-3 different cars. I keep going back because they are the most honest and straightforward auto repair shop I have ever dealt with. The latest example, which is prompting me to review them, is Mike working with me to get by brakes fixed. I had them replaced about a year ago, but kept getting a squeaking noise on them. I took them back a few times for the same issue and they stayed true to the warranty. Even though I think I am past the warranty, Mike replaced the pads and buffed the rotors at no cost. These guys are great! I had to get my car inspected and was pretty nervous walking in that they would be like any other garage that would "find" something that has to be fixed before they would pass me but there was no issue at all. They had me in and out in 20 minutes and they were reasonably price. i will definitely be back.

I have been going to Auto Techs for 8 years and have always found them to be incredible. Very capable - always do the work right the first time. Very reasonably priced - never feel that I have been overcharged. Very honest - often tell me that things I want to do on the car are not needed and would be a waste of money. Very very highly recommended.

I had them change out my oil pan on my F-250, because Jiffy Lube cross threaded the plug, and haven't had a leak since. The problem is I just found out they used a Honda oil pan plug instead of the Ford OEM plug which should have come with the parts I paid for. Not a huge deal since it's not leaking but it shows they take shortcuts

Great experience- I came in for an inspection, expecting to wait. Needless to say, I didnt wait, the service was quick and very friendly. I didnt feel like I was in some grimy auto shop either. The waiting area was nice and clean and the staff here was just top notch. Best part is this shop is very close to my home :) will likely come here for my future automotive needs.

Made an appointment the morning of for an oil change and they got in a couple hours later. Craig was friendly and accommodating. I ended up getting an oil change as well as my tires rotated and balanced. It was my fault for not asking what the cost would be but I was pretty disappointed to discover that the cost to get my tires rotated and balanced was $60. Friendly service and I will be back for an oil change but the tire cost was pretty outrageous.

I've been taking my 2010 Prius to Auto Techs for scheduled maintenance for 2 years now and I've had a positive experience every time! I feel they have always been honest with me and they've never tried to upsell me on expensive parts or procedures (unlike the dealership!)
I've taken my car in and waited for it in their comfortable lounge, and today I dropped it off in the morning. Auto Techs drove me home and promptly picked me up again when the car was ready. When I wait for it, they usually finish it in under an hour.

Amazing work! I had my car break and the check engine light came on, with my car shaking profusely while driving on the road. How unsafe! I had it towed from work to the Kia dealership and they quoted me $400 for 1 ignition coil + spark plugs to be replaced or $800 for all 4 ignition coils + spark plugs replaced. Not wanting to have another fail but also not wanting to be out that huge amount of money, I asked Austin auto tech what they'd charge for that work on my Kia.
