Mission Auto Care was established in February of 1999. Mission Auto Care has been part of the Oceanside community for years. Our shop is known for our straight forward, no nonsense approach. Oil is the lifeblood of your vehicle. Proper lubrication of all the moving parts means less gas is wasted on overcoming internal friction and more of it is transferred to the tires and wheels to get the vehicle going. Eventually, oil and the vehicle's other lubricants require replacement because the fluids break down over time and become less effective.
Took my vehicle in which was an out of state purchase from PA. Explained to Jared that there was some concerns I had in regards to the seller lying and spraying over rust. I explained a couple of other items of concern as well. I also told Jared up front that I'm a DIY guy with a helicopter mechanic background and that I would do repairs within my skill level and work with Mission Auto Care for items I can not handle.

Jared and the team at Mission Auto Care have always been professional and courteous. They go out of their way to explain any repairs that will be done and any recommended to be done. They care about their customers, learning about both the people they help and their vehicles that they service. I've been going to them for the four years that I've been here in California, and will continue to return.

This is probably my favorite car repair shop experience ever. Had a flat and was driving with a temporary tire. Needed a tire replacement. Granted, it’s a simple thing, but they were obviously busy and did it anyway. These guys were awesome. Polite, fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. 👍🏼

I brought my car in for brake inspection/work before I drove it across the country, they did a full inspection and sent a link to a copy of the inspection within the hour. I ended up going with the recommended services and it was completely worth it. I drove about 3,400 miles in 8 days and never had any troubles.

Clean, professional and the work gets done quick. They charge for the diagnostics, and find more things than you want them too, but I suppose it's worth it and they only fix what you agree to. They gave me free Lyft rides to home and back while doing the job. Good work.

Super professional and honest! Went in for a simple diagnostic check as I performed some rudimentary "testing" and suspected the radiator / coolant system was about to go rouge. The technicians were awesome and performed the diagnostic with constant text/picture updates on all the information. HIGHLY recommend using Mission Auto Care for everyday auto care and maintenance. I will be recommending them to ALL of my Marines who are in need of auto care! Thanks Jared!

2021 Review: I have to say this honestly, Jared is amazing. I had a loud clunking sound every time I turned the steering wheel. I wound up replacing the steering coupler in the EPS motor to correct the issue. However, I ended up with no power steering and an EPS and Traction light. Researching showed that I'd need to recalibrate the steering angle sensor to correct the issue. I turned it in to Jared and they found a connector wasn't fully seated. They connected the connector and recalibrated the sensor. They also performed a 36 point inspection and found other areas that needed attention

For whatever reason, AAA does not carry the battery for my car. They found Mission Auto Care did, so I went there. This place is pretty amazing. The guys were extremely helpful and very friendly. They took care of my old battery, replaced the new one, and registered the new battery with AAA. The price was right and service was quick.

I made my appointment online, they called me right away to confirm that they had that day and hour available.
I'm very happy with the service I received from Jared, at Mission auto care, he was polite knowledgeable and not condescending,( like women get so often from males in the auto auto repair industry. That is a huge deal to me!!)
I told him what I thought the problem might be so that's what they checked & fixed. They changed the fuse for my 12 V power outlet & didn't ever charge

Mission Auto Care charged me $62 just to tighten my battery cable. Most places would not charge a penny for this two seconds of time.
And they never offered me no shuttle, I did not know of it.
I am an old lady though and I have found that I am fair game for being taken advantage of. Not Okay folks.

We had to pay over $180 just for diagnostics! Even though they called us back the next day to tell us that their diagnostic wasn't working properly and over estimated the work needed to be done! They asked us if we wanted to come back in and give us another diagnostic for free! "HELL NO" Their estimates are priced over the roof! It seems that they mark up everything! We chose to bring the car somewhere better! I would highly recommend finding somewhere else, more reputable! Trust me! You'll thank me later! DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! I brought my car in here today to see if I could get my brakes checked. This is the third car that I have brought in since 2004. Pepe has always taken care of my cars. I don't know if he is still the owner of this business but after waiting for over 20 minutes for someone to come and at least acknowledge that I was there, I called another mechanic. During the time I was sitting there a guy came in and looked at me, got himself some coffee and walked out. If I could give zero stars I definitely would. This business doesn't deserve one star. I notice the other reviews for this business

I really wanted to like this place. We went a few times and they were nice but I think eventually over sold and over charged us. We won't go back. Charged $105 to diagnose why Check Engine light was on, then in addition to fixing the problem talked us into having all kinds of other individual things done that added up to a big bill.
Went back for what we thought would be an adjustment; another $105 to diagnose but this time we shopped around for the price to fix. They were $100 more for the repair! We went elsewhere and won't be back. There are some nice reviews here. Maybe they are

Honest, Trustworthy!! This place not only saved me but called and followed up a week later to check on my car. Who does that anymore?
I needed a second opinion on work done by another repair shop in Carlsbad. They found the horrible workmanship fixed and decided not to charge me for the part just labor.
After this I realized I could trust them and have them replace my Timing Cover AND it was for a fair price. The other place wanted to charge much more probably because they think we're rich.
My car runs fantastic! There shop is clean and Pepe, Victor and Loretta are down to earth, honest

Called for estimates for a couple of routine maintenances. To my shock, many of their quotes were 50% more than Toyota dealer.
I can't help but suspect it is due to the fact that I'm a minority woman. The fact that there were other men leaving positive reviews about pricing makes me feel this is not a honest business.

Went in to have my car check for Uber, it's was just a simple check list which they said they would charge 52.50 for. Not a big deal, 2 hours later I'm paying 110 because they took my door panel off without saying they'd charge extra and on top of that they failed me because of a reverse light which is not required on the inspection. They also openly talked about upcharging customers while I was in the waiting room!!!!

WalMart had a 3 hour wait so I found these guys on Yelp.
I was so glad.
I had my two kids with me, both under two. They were accommodating and kind to my children, even brought them stuffed animals to take home. Pepe is funny, thoughtful, honest, and sweet.
It was more expensive than Walmart, but definitely better quality.

Brought my car in on Saturday. I got a price quote from Midas right next store, and I thought it was too high so I came over to mission auto care based on a friends recommendation. Victor helped me out looked over the work Midas quoted me and they did a great job for less money. Can't complain about that.
Unfortunately the car ended up breaking down the next day!!! Instead of assuming or insinuating I came back to mission auto for them to see what was wrong. They did a full diagnosis and had it up and running in no time. Didn't charge me AND gave me a credit to use for the inconvenience
