I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, "the Windy City." I attended the University of Minnesota (95-00) BS obtained, in Minneapolis, then Howard University (00-04) where I obtained my medical degree. Deferred radiology residency from 2004 to 2005 to care for mother. Psychiatry residency - Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina (09-12).
Addiction psychiatry fellowship - University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas - Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship. At UT Southwestern, I learned about treating patients with addiction diagnoses, in conjunction with co-occurring general psychiatric illnesses. An integrated approach is found to provide a more robust effect, in treatment of dually diagnosed individuals, where the patient as a whole is considered.

I came to Bridge from Wilmington NC and moving from Wilmington was the best thing I've ever done. I was in a program for subutex when I lived in Wilmington and when I moved to Concord I had to find a different doctor. I called Bridge and they got me in as soon as they could..no waiting list, I got somebody in the phone every time I called and MUCH CHEAPER. MOST IMPORTANTLY THEY ARE MUCH MORE CONCERNED. I was EXTREMELY sick from my doctor in Wilmington wanting to charge me 360 for 1 week worth of meds. Thank you very much Bridge to integrated living. I now know that it's not always about money.

I have been seeing Dr. Carter for a few months now and I must say he's a wonderful doctor. He takes the time to talk to me not only about my prescriptions but about my life and the things that I can do that don't include medicine that will make my life more enjoyable and more manageable. Dr. Carter has me on buprenorphine and gabapentin. Buprenorphine has really changed and possibly saved my life. I have struggled for years with an addiction that was like a monkey on my back. I was sure that it would be a problem that would haunt me f koor the rest of my life. This medication for me personally

Great Doctor in an understatement when referring to this man. This man is one of the very few phenomenal doctors left in the medical industry. He is genuinely concerned with his patient's well being & progress. He is very attentive as well. If you are looking for a doctor who will listen & effectively address your issues & concerns this is the doctor for you. I have been a patient of his since June 2016 & I have made nothing but progress in the past year, all thanks to him. He's always made me feel like an actual person instead of a number or case. Since day 1 he's been all about helping me better
