Having worked together for several years, Kellie Abbee and Aaron Langford formed Advanced Psychiatry on the principles of trust, patient collaboration, and positive outcomes. Kellie is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baylor University.
She has extensive experience in both evaluating and treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders such as depressive disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorders, chemical dependency and insomnia. She has a particular passion for treating those individuals struggling with severe anxiety and/or severe depression.

Services
As Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, we focus on the biological and medical aspects of treatment. We do not provide counseling or psychotherapy in our practice and strongly encourage it as part of a well-rounded treatment plan. We are happy to make recommendations and referrals for therapists and counseling centers will best be able serve the patient's therapy needs.

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is characterized by the inability to pay attention for sustained periods of time as well as the impulse to move around and fidget. ADHD has a strong genetic component that affects the sufferer's ability to stay focused, remember things, stay organized, and learn from their mistakes.
Anxiety is a natural reaction to stressful situations. It is part of the body's "fight or flight" response; when faced with perceived danger, the body enters a state with dilated pupils, heightened senses, quickened pulse, and a flood of adrenaline. This allows us to quickly assess the situation and have a burst of strength or speed to help us get away.
Bipolar disorder, formerly known as manic depression, is a mood disorder characterized by unusual shifts in mood and energy levels that interfere with a person's ability to carry out daily tasks. Left untreated, these mood swings can lead to states of mania and depression. A bipolar individual's brain does not regulate their moods efficiently.

Don’t waste your time or money on this place.
If you are seeking quality psychiatric care I would find a real doctor who at least offers the option to see you in person.
I had an experience where I was suddenly cut off of a medication that has life-threatening withdrawals. I was given no specific instructions or timeframe on when or how to taper.
Abbee wouldn’t even call me back personally on this matter. She had some Emily woman call, who had a huge attitude and no idea what she was talking about.
What a mess. Go somewhere else.

I am so thankful for Advanced Psychiatry and specifically Dr. Kellie Abbee. I have been seeing her for 2 years now, and I have always had the best experience at this office. I love that they call and confirm your appointment days in advance, which is helpful to remember when my appointment is. Ms. Abbee really cares about your progress and helps answer all questions along the way. I feel safe knowing she and Advanced Psychiatry have my best interest in mind. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Dr. Lang!! I have been going here for a few mths now. I've gone to several different psychiatrists and places over the last 15 years and several recently trying to find a good one and in all the years Dr. Lang is the first one I've ever sat down with a felt completely comfortable and at ease!! The best I've ever found!
He is so kind, friendly and compassionate! I will never go to anyone else from here out! I recommend him to everyone! 10 out of 10!

I have been seeing Aaron Langford almost since he first started in the field. I have seen a small handful of psychiatrists and he is by far my favorite. The top two best qualities about Aaron are his ability to make you feel comfortable and safe and his listening to patient skills. I feel extremely safe and well taken care of. I will see Aaron as long as he is available. I am very happy with my care. Thank you Advanced Psychiatry!
