North Pointe Psychiatry is a behavioral health clinic under the direction of Dr. Asad Islam. It is our goal to provide thoughtful, competent, compassionate and thorough psychiatric evaluation and continuing care in a confidential and respectful environment. Dr. Islam is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with additional Certification and Training in Geriatric Psychiatry with 20+ years of experience.
Our specialties include treatment of ADHD, Depression, Bipolar disorder, Anxiety disorders, Substance abuse, Memory Problems, Developmental disabilities, and Sexual Dysfunction.
We provide treatment for general psychiatric conditions including all psychotic disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective and delusional disorders); mood disorders ( depression, bipolar 1 and 2); anxiety disorders ( panic attacks, generalized anxiety, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder); personality disorders, eating disorders, impulse control disorders, and chronic sleep problems.

Arriving with all necessary paperwork greatly assists our staff in creating and updating your file while limiting your overall wait time. Dr. Isalm is such a caring doctor who listens to my daughter and has been able to get her to open up to him. No other psychiatrist has been able to do that. Also the girls in the office are so sweet and helpful.
Northpointe Psychiatry is conducting CNS clinical trials successfully since 2015. Our research areas are focused on CNS therapeutic clinical studies in phase 2, 3 and 4. We try to be diverse in our research studies and contribute to the growing pharmaceutical industry in a meaningful way. We have experienced staff and fully equipped sites to cater our subjects.

Shelly is great and deserves 5 stars for helping me and my wife. Very easy to talk to and actually listens to find the solution.
Only reason for 3 stars is the consistent phone calls to me and my wife asking me to write this review. I don't mind leaving a great review for a great experience, but I've got other things going on as well.

So I'm still getting calls about writing this review that I did 2 months ago. Dropping to 1 star. I take on average 30-40 calls a day for work. Why am I still getting these pointless calls?

Shelly Sanders is wonderful and even when she is completely booked, she always takes the time we have during our appointments to ask and listen to any problems I have. I never feel that I am rushed, and she always takes into consideration how I feel about certain meds. Not pushy and I felt heard/taken care of!

I have been seeing the specialists here for a few months and have noticed great results in my day-to-day life. Earl is easy to talk to and seems to genuinely care. Anita has listened and worked well with my particular needs.
I do not appreciate getting multiple calls in a day or two span, basically spamming me for this review though. My thoughts about the practitioners are real though.

I had to wait an hour past my appointment time until Dr. Anita finally saw me. She rushed me through the entire appointment and would cut me off when I was trying to explain something and say “yes or no answers”. As someone with extreme anxiety it was already very difficult for me to get myself to go get some help. She seemed very unorganized and in a hurry to get me out of there. This appointment was months ago but it still rubbed me the wrong way to the point I feel like I need to say something. The front desk staff was very nice and polite but I will not be going to this place again.

Dr. Islam is amazing. I have been seeing him for just under 2 years now. He actually takes the time to listen and understand. He is kind and never makes his patients feel rushed or pressured. He actually takes the time to get to know you and remembers important details. I have really benefited from his services!

I have been seeing Dr. Anita Thomas for a several years now. She is awesome and really does care about my best interest. She has been a very good listener. Since I have been under her care, I have had a major boost in not only my career, but also managing my work/life balance. She treats me for anxiety and really helps me to understand the underlying reasons for my anxiety and how to manage it so I can focus on the tasks at hand instead of worrying about things that are out of my control, or do not merit my attention at the time.
