If you walkin or call to reserve he asksfor a lot more than with a 3 rd party. You may as well stay at a note well known chain in a Wmbg.

Dated but serviceable. Check in was quick and pleasant. Beds were comfortable. Temp control was subpar. Room reeked! of smoke, even though it was a no smoking room. (So was the one next door.) Unpleasant stay.

I loves the nice, quaint, homey feel! It had everything I needed. Even had chairs on the outside that made me feel like I was sitting on my porch at home. Also loved the price! Will definitely frequent Bassett Motel!

Room 14 was very clean and smelled nice. Good price for a place to sleep. I would have given it 4 stars but the shower head is only about 5'5" from the tub so you have to squat to wash if you are taller than 5'4". We were there for 2 days & no one from housekeeping came by to freshen up the room or provide more towels. The bathroom paint job could have been tidier, there's dried paint on the tiles and the mirror could really use a boarder. Also if you are in the shower and someone in the room next to you or close to yours flushes their toilet or uses the water, you get straight cold water while

No hot water for 2 days. Also, they did not tell me they would be shutting the water off to fix it. On top of this they came in spray for bugs without? What kind of place does this with a person occupying the room? Again, no forewarning, just knock on the door and walk in. Worst of the worst but since it's in Williamsburg they owners drive nice cars and they'll always have customers, sadly.

So the old saying of 'you get what you pay for'....this is it. The tub looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. There was mold on the ceiling. The sheets at least looked fresh...you could see the crease in them. No outlet in the bathroom. Cheap but you definitely get cheap.

Everything was clean and perfect for what we needed. My only concern is to have a rubber mat or stickies in the bathtub. I almost fell a couple of times.

Now I knew this wouldn't be a fancy stay, and I was fine without the amenities found at most hotels. I just needed a clean place to crash after the amusement park... When we walked in we got hit with a mildew/smoke combo smell. When I went to talk to the front desk they didn't apologize, offer to check out or fix the problem. They just stared at me until they said "there are no refunds". We just left. $60 lesson learned.

Are you looking for a clean and well-kept super-budget motel run by super-nice folks -- that's what we found here at the Basset Motel.

We (my, my son, and my brother) wanted a no-frills motel for our visit to Busch Gardens. This motel came up on Priceline. We paid only about $75 in late summer. Totally worth it, even at a slightly higher price.

Okay, this is going to be a very honest post. I loved my stay at this motel. I JUST got a teaching job and wanted one last hurrah before starting my career (think still super broke and on a budget) so my fiancée and I decided to meet up with my brother and cousin in Williamsburg to have a busch gardens adventure over labor day weekend. After doing some research, I decided to book a room at the bassett. Ok- if you are used to staying at high end hotel resorts, this may not be for you, but for the rest of us- I can't say enough nice things about this hotel. One level, park in front of

Have been staying in Williamsburg for an annual return visit for the 8 years since we moved away. Have stayed now at 5 different places, and this one is the keeper (they tore one of the other ones down, and two others should have been). This is an old-style motel: on a major highway, well-placed; small number of rooms (14); drive right up to your room (none of that hallway/elevator nonsense!); in a quiet neighborhood; run by family. While the decor is older, the comfort is contemporary -- frig, microwave, WiFi, decent towels, good beds, plenty of hot water, absolute cleanliness, and a large
