Unlike other companies that try to be all things to all people, Assisted Living Locators Los Angeles specializes in Metro Los Angeles. We visit all the communities we represent, check their Dept. of Health reports, talk to residents and get to know the owners and administrators. This kind of in-depth knowledge takes the guess-work out of choosing a place for mom or dad.
Independent living provides housekeeping, meals and social activities but no supervision or medical care. Independent living communities are housing designed for seniors 55 and older. Individuals live in their own apartment, but have access to amenities such as housekeeping, social activities, dining, transportation, and more.
Assisted living communities are an excellent option for seniors who may require more day-to-day assistance with activities of daily life (ADLs) but wish to remain as independent for as long as possible. In Los Angeles, assisted living communities come in many different sizes with a wide variety of different amenities and services.
Board & care homes (B&C) offer the same types of services as the larger communities, but service is provided in a small residential setting. The intimate setting afforded by board and care homes allows for closer oversight of residents and is accompanied by a higher staff to resident ratio. They share the same Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) license as the big buildings.

When my family had to move my blind, 95 year old, bed ridden mother from an understaffed, fancy, expensive assisted living place, we lucked out and our first call was to Assisted Living Locators. I explained to Laura Barrett what we wanted. She gave us 3 places to look at and the first one, Shalom Gardens, was perfect. Sarah is one of those rare individuals that not only is excellent at her job, but after speaking with her, you know she really loves what she does. When I was trying to find a place for my mother, she was a great listener, was never pushy, and would always give sound advice. Because of her vast knowledge and experience, her suggestions were always on target and tailored for my mother's needs. Sarah at Assisted Living Locators is great. She quickly assessed the needs of my Uncle, recommended what would be the right type of place for him and then made recommendations of the places she felt suited his needs. She was able to have me Facetime with the individual places so that I could see the facilities and talk to the owners and make a decision. Once I made the decision, she arranged everything and it all went so smoothly. Although it was hard to make that decision as both places were great!

My 58 y.o. brother was recently diagnosed with a condition which has resulted in cognitive and memory impairment.
