Robb installed two Mendota FV44i’s in our home after another company lost our faith and we parted ways. Robb is professional, honest, does great work and is just a great person to work with overall. Knowledgeable about the products he sells and excellent on design too. He is a rare find so grab him if you can.

Clappers installed a Mendota insert in our house few years ago. I called for service, and also to fix the freezing draft coming through in the winter (front of fireplace literally frost when sub zero outside). He did not show up. Thanks pal for costing me a half day of vacation.
Called again and he said he did not make it because he lost my cell #. Scheduled a 2nd appointment. And again he never showed up.
Funny now that I think of it, how he pretended to double check my cell and write things down in his calendar and all that BS. Yes, he is that kind of person.

I bought a beautiful Mendota gas fireplace from Clapper's in 2015. I was very happy with my purchase and installation. Robb serviced the fireplace the first two years. When I called to have it serviced the third year, Robb never returned my call. I don't know why. It is very difficult to have a fireplace serviced from a dealer other than the one from whom you made your purchase. I called Robb again this year and once again he never returned my call. I am very disappointed that he never has given me the courtesy as to why he can't or is unwilling to service the fireplace I bought from him.. It doesn

Amazing service! We needed our gas fireplace repaired, and after a different shop in town went silent on us, I contacted Clapper's. Rob was able to come out within a few days and fix our issue quickly. Besides being efficient, he's also a really nice guy. I was having trouble finding our fireplace remote, but holding a newborn so I couldn't dig through boxes. Rob came down to the cellar with me and helped me find it, while being very respectful of our home. Highly recommend!

Robb has serviced our gas fireplaces in two different homes. Our first fireplace, a Mendota, would constantly die after a few minutes of operation. The original dealer was unable to fix it, and it remained a mystery for a year until we found Robb. He quickly diagnosed the problem, and then re-designed the chimney components to fix it.
Our new home came with a Majestic brand fireplace. Though it's not a brand he normally supports, we didn't want to work with anyone else, and he has done a great job with maintenance and repairs. He's reliable, responsive, and cost-conscious. Highly

I have been a customer of Clapper's since the early 1990s when it was in Newton. Purchased Teak outdoor dining set that I finally just gave to a family member. It lasted all these year and then some. Robb has now been installing and maintaining my 3 gas fireplaces. His work is perfection. Robb is always always responsive, on time and efficient. We finally decided to convert our wood burning fireplace to a gas fireplace insert.I did as much research as I could but there was not a lot out there that was meaningful. We listed all the places that sold inserts within a 15 mile radius and went to visit them.Some looked good and others not so much. Our last stop was Clappers and boy were we in for a treat. My wife and I looked around at various fireplace shops but when we went to Clapper's we were very impressed. We not only found the best insert that we'd seen but Robb was fantastic! He was great to work with, he coordinated one day installation with him, plumber and electrician coordinated by him and he stands behind his work completely and wants everything to be perfect. Clappers is terrific. We were in the market to replace our fireplace doors and stopped by the showroom in Sudbury late one Saturday. After visiting some other fireplace showrooms it was a no brainer to purchase our beautiful Stoll doors from Clappers. Robb came to our home several times to check the site before installing our gas fireplace insert. He helped us understand how the process would work and what to expect from N. Grid, plumbers and inspectors. When he did the work he was quick and clean. His plumber was fantastic coming out on a Sunday to hook us up.
