We started in the late 90's as a two-man operation out of the back of a rental truck sweeping chimneys in the Boston area. Education and training options in our industry were extremely limited. Training programs that were available were inefficient and seemed to be geared more towards putting attendees to sleep rather than providing necessary information needed to succeed in the field.
The internet hadn't quite taken off yet, so information about installation and repair of different brands of fireplaces and stoves was hard to come by. We noticed a trend towards gas and pellet fireplaces as well as advancements in wood fireplace technology.

Established in the late 1990's, The Fireplace Guys, LLC is a family-owned and operated fireplace service company located in Malden, MA and serving the Greater Boston Area. We are taking every precaution necessary to ensure the safety of both our customers and our staff. Rest assured, all technicians will wear masks and be equipped with hand sanitizer when entering your home.
The experience was excellent. Derek was a professional, and he did not even hold it against me when I completely forgot our appointment. He rescheduled and arrived at my house on time, in a professional manner and made the repair immediately. He also identified an additional issue that I had noticed but not mentioned to him.

He was good at what he did--but he didn't tell me how much the part would cost before he put it in, and it was more than I expected. After he put it in, he told me how much it cost and I was surprised and upset and told him that I was, and he got sarcastic and told me he would be happy to take it out and went upstairs to do so. I got him to come back down and said I would pay the amount but just wanted him to see that he could have communicated better, which he did not think was the case. Miserable experience though my fireplace is working!

Fireplace gas insert fan motor not working so I called The Fireplace Guys and set up appointment.
The service rep Derek was there on time and replaced the fan motor unit and truly did an amazing job from setting up his work tarps to making sure the floor did not get damaged to cleaning up the work area and answering questions that I had.
They are highly recommended and definitely can’t go wrong

Our gas fireplace insert did not work right from the very beginning. If it was windy out or the outside temperature was less than 40 degrees, the flame would dance around the fire box for a minute then go out and not relight. The company we purchased it from could not service it and the installers they recommended were useless to help. After 5 years of frustration we called Derek at The Fireplace Guys. He came right out, serviced the fireplace and now it works reliably no matter the weather. We are delighted! Thank you Fireplace Guys!
