Dr. Kim is always concerned about my comfort level and suggested injection to alleviate pain that might be caused by routine cleaning as well as filling. He also put antiseptics on the gum area to help prevent infection after cleaning. These additional services were not offered by other dentists that I visited before. Unfortunately, they are also not covered by insurance and I got a hefty bill from the office. After I explained to the office manager that the cost of these additional services were not discussed before hand, she was kind and understanding enough to reduce my payment. After this,

Dr. Kim & the entire staff at Ocean Heights Dental are phenomenal! I had great fear of the dentist from previous experiences, but all is gone after finding them. I actually passed out in the chair after receiving numbing injections (so embarrassing) and was treated with nothing but care & kindness. No more dentist related anxiety for me! 😏 ⚒...and I didnt think that would ever be possible. He has a way of talking to you, respecting you and making you laugh. No dentist has cared for me like him. I was terrified due to very traumatizing past experiences but he makes me look forward to getting stuff done😁he does everything he can to minimize pain as much as possible...and it works! If your on the fence about a dentisit & your reading this, I promise you wont regret giving him a try. He was highly recommended by SEVERAL people I knew, and now I simply cant leave him

I had Dr. Kim replace a crown that was about seven years old, never a great fit. The whole experience was great, even my temporary crown was amazing compared to the one being replaced. I have to admit I was a little nervous thinking it could not better with the permanent crown. I was blown away, it was an even better fit and bite. Highly recommend Dr Kim and his staff!

On top of being a great dentist he is hilarious and makes me feel comfortable which is hard to do while in the chair. His hygenist is the sweetest person you could ever wish to have work on your teeth and she takes the time to explain everything she's doing. While I can't say I love going to the dentist I definitely don't dread it anymore.

One of my most dreaded childhood fears was going to the dentist. Probably a combination of drinking too much soda and bad dentists. My family couldn't afford braces and as a result I spent most of my childhood avoiding smiling in photos because of my misaligned teeth. As an adult, I'm now taking the time to properly care for my teeth and undoing much of the damage done in my younger years. I've been a patient here for a few years and recently had to find a new dentist, simply due to the fact that I no longer work in Long Beach. Which is honestly a bit of a bummer because I really enjoyed going to Dr. Kim! He and the entire staff are so nice and friendly, I never had anything less than a pleasant, easy experience. So although I have to move on to someone closer to home, I couldn't go without mentioning how genuine they've been to me, and that I hope business continues to go well :)

Had to make a yelp account just to review my dentist Dr. Steven Kim and his entire staff. I moved to long beach a year ago for school with some SERIOUS dental needs, and i found Dr. Kim's office through rave reviews on yelp. These reviews do not even do him and his office justice- everyone is so wonderful, honest, informative, and as a low income patient with no insurance, the honesty and fairnes means that i never have to worry about being oversold or overcharged. The work i have had done is phenomenal from cleanings to fillings to crowns. Every person in this office is amazing!!! The

I have a pretty big fear of dentists. I have literally cried at a dentist before (When I was 19 no less...) so when my GF told me to try Dr. Kim I walked in with trepidation. The first visit was very comforting with all the staff. I need my wisdom tooth pulled coupled with fillings and everyone was very accommodating.
Dr. Kim demeanor was down to earth. His friendly and affable nature instantly put me at ease. He's upfront and there to help you within his abilities (which are superb).
Overall, I really recommend this place.

Going to the dentist has always been something I hate, but ever since going to Ocean Heights, Dr. Kim has completely changed my mind. I've been going to Ocean Heights Dental for the past few years, and I couldn't be happier. Although I don't live close to Long Beach, every time i need dental care, I will only go see Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim and staff are very professional and friendly. They always make sure to help me understand everything they are doing and what is needed every visit. I've never had any problem with my teeth after a visit, and am very happy with the work done.

Dr. Kim and his staff make the whole dentist experience one of a kind. For the first time in my life, I don't mind going to the dentist. In fact, I now make it a regular priority to get cleanings every 6 months. Dr. Kim is very trustworthy and I will be a patient for as long as he is practicing dentistry. Dr. Kim is fantastic! No other words to describe him and his staff. I am traditionally not a fan of dentists - me and drills in my mouth don't get along. Dr. Kim puts me at ease with his easy going demeanor and most importantly he explains to me what he will be doing and why. Dr. Kim is conservative in his approach and I really appreciate that versus other dentists that have been much more aggressive in their approach. If you need a dentist or a second opinion go visit Dr. Kim. I've been seeing Dr. Kim for the last 8 years and can vouch strongly for the quality of the work.

Dr. Steven Kim and Ocean Heights Dental did an excellent job! After months of having an extremely sensitive tooth and eating only on the opposite side of my mouth I finally chose to get my old cracked filling replaced. It was a pretty large filling and Dr. Kim handled it with ease. The multiple shot(s) to numb my mouth were painless and the drilling didn't hurt a bit. Today my tooth feels great and there is no soreness at all. I am definitely a happy camper now and would highly recommend Dr. Steven Kim Ocean Heights Dental!

I heard about this haven at a bar in LA when one of my old crowns had fallen out. I figured I had nothing to lose and checked yelp for the reviews and I would strongly agree with all the positive reviews spoken about this business. I actually think these reviews are an understatement to the professionalism related to this place.

I HATE GOING TO THE DENTIST - I don't exactly know anyone in their right mind who loves it. However, since I came across Ocean Heights Dental and had Dr. Kim work on my teeth, I hate it and it scares me A LOT less. I dare say I was actually...EXCITED to go back after my first visit.
