Dr. Najm was awarded an excellence in emergency dental care from the University of Colorado and has a second dental degree (BDS) from Modern Sciences and Arts University in Egypt.His special interests include reconstruction of complex dental needs, cosmetic dentistry, emergency care and implant dentistry.

I have been taking my daughter to Dr Mahmood since she was six months old and wouldn’t have it any other way!
She and her entire staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and will make your child feel comfortable and at ease while having dental work done, they talk them through the entire process so they know what to expect before they apply water, suction, etc. so that they won’t be startled.
My daughter loves Dr Mahmood and truly enjoys visiting her and always looks forward to her 6 month cleanings and check ups.

My 2 year old daughter loved the atmosphere, the staff, and her experience! I didn't know how my daughter would handle her first dentist appointment but the friendly faces made my daughter very comfortable. They had a lot of patience and the made it fun for her. I love it and its a great dentist facility for the whole family!

Once again wonderful for my 2 kids. Hygienist and Dentist are amazing with both of my young kids and make the experience wonderful for them. This is why we travel so far and pay to come here instead of going to a closer place that accepts our insurance. Alvarado Dental and their pediatric team are VERY worth it! Thank you so much!

I brought my son in to establish care and the staff was great from the receptionist, to the dental assistant, and dentist. My son has had a traumatic experience at the super dentist to the point where I would have to hold him down. Alvarado Dental Group made sure that my son was comfortable and he did so well. I have been a patient of Alvarado Dental Group as far back as I can remember. I used to live near SDSU and now for many years commute from Poway.
This office is amazing! All the people that work there from the front office to assistants to the Dr’s are the best! I highly recommend this practice for your family dentistry needs.
By the way, Richard is so good at his profession and so much fun to talk to, I look forward to going here 2x year!

This dental team is the absolute best!!! I just went for my first appointment today for an initial exam and some dental work, and I was so impressed with their teamwork and flexibility with allowing me to have multiple things done in one day... not to mention how kind the staff was. The team at Alvarado Dental Group is the best! The entire staff is friendly and professional. I ALWAYS have had horrible teeth (I like candy), but the team at Alvarado Dental is super nice and that "dental anxiety" I used to get before each visit is gone.

I wish I could give 10 stars to Alvarado Dental Group. I've always been afraid of the dentist but my experience with Dr. Najm and his team has completely changed my perspective. I went to Dr. Najm by referral from a good friend and I'm so glad I did. The experience was pleasant from start to finish. The office is beautiful and super clean. We LOVE Alvarado Dental Group! Dr. Mahmood is incredible with my daughters; patient and kind and really takes the time to explain everything to them, and to me. She makes them feel very comfortable. Our dental hygienists have been equally as wonderful and patient, making oral hygiene fun for the kids. My husband and I also receive care from Dr. Najim and he is very kind and genuine. I've been to other dentists in San Diego and Alvarado Dental Group is very fair with their pricing as well. We have been VERY pleased with all the staff and service here. This was a great office! Daniela was very sweet and professional while taking my X-rays. Richard was calming and very detailed with my cleaning, It felt like I had a new set of pearly whites Dr. Najm answered all my question and helped me understand what I can do to improve my smile. I visited yesterday and was immediately impressed by their clean, beautiful offices. Next I was greeted by the front office staff who were thorough, warm, and friendly. My dental hygienist, Richard, made me feel comfortable and explained everything as he went. The doctor was very professional yet relatable, and I feel I got top-knotch dental care. Dr. Mahmood and the assistant Javanna are absolutely amazing wow!!!!! I just came to the office for the first time and they were able to fit me in last minute and everyone was very welcoming and I love how respectful and patient the doctor was with her assistant! WOW! Due to a major fear of the dentist, I had put off an office visit for YEARS despite major discomfort in my mouth. After realizing I desperately needed some major work done, my girlfriend did some research and found Alvarado Dental Group. I was really nervous going into it, but the dentist himself *and* his wonderful dental assistances explained everything that was going to happen, how long it would take, etc.
After having all the information told me to, I was completely at ease.
The entire appointment was completely painless and went by in an hour.
The front desk ladies are also incredibly sweet and try to help you get the best possible price - especially if you're a student.

Dr Mahmood and staff are ALWAYS so kind and caring. I love taking my kids to see them. My kids are so comfortable and always have so much fun when they go. Cavity free because they are well educated on oral hygiene and a healthy diet. Smiles going in and smiles coming out.

We love coming to see Dr. Mahmood. She has cared for my daughters for the past year and will bring my 3 month old in once he has his first teeth in as well. She's caring and takes her time explaining everything we can to prevent cavities. She's such a great dentist for the little ones and nervous moms like me who only want the best for their kids :)

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Alvarado Dental Group and I was so impressed! As soon as you walk in, you will notice how clean, bright, and immaculate the entire office is! There are tons of windows allowing in natural light, beautiful art work on the walls, comfortable seating and is not only adult friendly but kid friendly! There is even a separate area where kids can play and be entertained! Their waiting area also offers Keurig coffee or tea. You can tell a lot of thought and care went into this dental practice.

I have been going to Alvarado Dental since 1990. I have always had a good experience here, both with hygienists and dentists. The practice changed hands relatively recently and it is better than ever. Richard has been cleaning my teeth for years - he stayed on from the old practice. I have had nothing but good interactions with Dr. Najm and reception staff. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Wonderful family style dentistry. Great staff. Everyone so nice and friendly they make you feel right at home. No unnecessary treatment (like most dentists these days). So glad I found this place. They have pediatric dentist too. She is also super nice (I don't have any kids myself to bring here). All in all, a great experience. Definitely recommended.
