The Meditation Initiative provides meditation classes and training for children, adults and seniors to help prevent stress and anxiety, improve focus and attention, and share tools for anger management while improving overall mental and emotional health and well-being.

We offer free meditation classes for K-12 Public Schools, Colleges, Hospitals, Prisons, Diabetes Patients, HIV Patients, Corporations, Cancer Clinics, Senior Centers, Homeless Teens, Superior Court of CA, Sober Living Homes, United States Military, Wounded Warriors, At-Risk Youth, Victims of Domestic Violence & Human Trafficking and more.Learn More.

We empower people to change their lives, by providing free meditation to anyone anywhere. Teaching people how to deal with stress, anger, anxiety, sadness and depression through the practice of daily meditation. Creating a world where people slow down and pay attention to their breath.

Officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in January of 2009, the goal of The Meditation Initiative is to provide free meditation for everyone.The organization was founded by Jeffrey Zlotnik, based on his experience leading meditation throughout San Diego, starting with bringing meditation into the prisons in 2003.
The Meditation Outreach Program is a perfect introduction for those who are curious about meditation but never seem to have found the time, as well as those who have experience with meditation but want to develop a daily practice. Learn about the common misunderstandings of meditation in addition to various techniques, postures and expectations in developing a daily meditation practice.
The Meditation Initiative has made tremendous progress towards our vision of offering meditation as a means of bringing harmony to our world. Our approach of using meditation as a mindfulness education has been well received by the many organizations around the country.

Are you interested in bringing meditation into the workplace? No matter what your industry is, this is an opportunity to offer a healthy way to manage stress and anxiety in a corporate setting. Workshops range from 30 to 90 minutes and can be tailored for each organization based on your needs and availability.
Are you interested in learning to lead meditation in your community? The Meditation Initiative hosts facilitator training programs which allows us to bring meditation into the community on a larger scale. Anyone can learn to lead meditation, it is easy. Your ability to communicate with others and facilitate a group is what matters most, no prior meditation experience is necessary.
