Dial Murray Funeral Home
Thank you for visiting the website for Dial-Murray Funeral Home. As the "first" funeral home in Berkeley County, we have been serving the families of the tri-county area since 1949. We are independently owned and operated, and we constantly strive to meet the needs of the families we serve both at their time of need and also with the aftercare they require.

We hope you will find our site helpful and that you will return to it any time we can be of assistance. Our staff is primarily composed of individuals and their families who were born and raised here in the tri-county area.
Services
In 1949, Berkeley County's first funeral home, "Dial Funeral Home", was founded by J. Chalmers Dial, Sr., and his wife Lorraine. The first establishment was located at 220 West Main Street in Moncks Corner. In 1952, the business moved into larger facilities at 300 West Main Street, where the present Dial-Murray Funeral Home continues to operate today.
Staff members of Dial-Murray Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff. Shelly is a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and insurance agent.
The establishment in Moncks Corner has recently completed renovations providing additional parking, visitation rooms, and an enlarged chapel. The establishment in St. Stephen will be moving from it's present location, where it has been since the early 1960's, to a new and enlarged facility on Highway 52 between Bonneau and St. Stephen.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

Can’t express enough how amazing this funeral home was to my family during such a difficult time. This was our first time dealing with something like this on our own with my father’s passing and they handled it with such patience, grace, dignity, and love. From beginning to end every employee we encountered was absolutely amazing. They treated us like family and I truly can’t explain the amount of love and appreciation we have for them. This is exactly where you wanna come for any type of funeral arrangements! On behalf of the Morris Family, thank you so much again for everything and making

Couldn't have asked for a better team ! They were very professional yet had empathy for my loss. They were able to expedite getting my husbands DD214 so he could have the military service and burial he deserved .

I cannot say enough about this place. The staff is very profession and friendly. They go above and beyond what you would expect out of a funeral home and they seem like they genuinely care.

I’ve been to a few funerals done by Dial-Murray and have had zero issues and everyone was professional and curtious. This past time when my grandfather passed away I was very disappointed. I was a Pallbearer and the staff while standing at the back of the hearse continually reminded us they had another funeral to get to. After arriving to the grave site and having a short service a woman named Robin I think came up to my mom immediately after the service was over and asked in front of all of my grandfathers family if we were gonna continue to sit longer because they needed to pack things up because

If you are wanting a caring family atmosphere for your loved one you can not find a better place. They are professional and will help you in any way they can. They are reasonably priced and are willing to help you with all the things you have to do after the loss of your loved one. They were an answer to my prayers.
