Parks Funeral Home offers many quality services to our families. We strive to give our families comfort and peace of mind during their toughest times. Our services are designed to meet the personal desires of each family because every situation is unique and deserves to be treated as such. A funeral service is a special time for family and friends to comfort one another, begin to find healing and celebrate a life well lived.
Summerville Cemetery and Mausoleum (also known as Parks Cemetery) is located on Highway 17A South (also Boone Hill Road) in Summerville, South Carolina, right beside Parks Field. Founded in 1941, many generations of Lowcountry families are laid to rest nestled among rows of beautiful dogwoods, majestic live oaks, and colorful crepe myrtles.
When death occurs in a family, the grief is often tremendous and confusing. Pre-planning your funeral is one of the most thoughtful things you can do for yourself and your loved ones. Prearrangement gives you the security and satisfaction of knowing you have made sound decisions. This peace of mind provides benefits far beyond the dollars spent.
Meaningful memorialization of a loved one's passing can transform, heal, and comfort us. It highlights our loved ones' sacrifices, reminds us of the things that they value, and inspires us with their life stories. Have the Talk of a Lifetime, a program created by The Funeral and Memorial Information Council, was designed to help families have meaningful conversations about the things that matter most in their lives.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.

Melissa, Funeral director was very thoroughly, her heartfelt guidance and sincere expressions of sympathy is genuinely appreciated. The extra measures of assistance her and the funeral home provided for me is prized and will not be soon forgotten.I am amazed at the patience with me as I stumbled along, seemingly in a fog at times.Valued my grief and, without judgement, allowed me to express it in my own ways and on my own schedule. The thoughtfulness is a gift I will always treasure. Mrs. Charles Jones

My mother planned her own funeral service at Park's Funeral Home before her passing. It was a great relief to just have to be a part of the grief process and not have to make a bunch of decisions that I was not in the frame of mind to do. These guys handled everything from start to finish and have followed up with us after to make sure that we were cared for, lacking for nothing. We couldn't have asked for better!!! Thanks guys

From the beginning to the end Parks Funeral Home exceeded expectations. Melissa did an awesome job working with the Military and my family. She made sure everything was okay with my brother and I and what my mother would of wanted. Can’t thank you guys enough. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a Funeral Home in the Charleston area.

Normally when I write a review it’s because I’ve had a happy experience, but it is not a happy time for my family. However, this time in one’s life is what Parks’ specializes in. My mother passed away very unexpectedly over a long holiday weekend. Parks has been extremely helpful and kind to us during this confusing process. When you have no idea what to do and where to start, Melissa guided us through the questions we needed to be prepared to answer. We were able to do our very best for our mom considering the current health restrictions. Melissa and the rest of the Parks’ team couldn’t

My wife's family has always used Parks Funeral Home for their family members funerals. 1 can only remember back to 1968, when my Father-in-Law (Russell Scott) pasted away and Jackie Parks was the Funeral Director. I don't think our family would trust any other funeral home. Parks has always been so professional and personable. They seem like they are part of the family.

Such a sweet, empathetic and professional staff. Katelyn is very professional and understanding. She listens and delivers. Melissa is the best. She handles things that are not often considered. The staff held out hands during and even after such a hard experience. They truly care about people and doing their very best. They take the stress off and allow you the chance to grieve. There is no better place or better people to go through a hard situation with. Forever blessed by all of these sweet women.
