The Pre-Purchase Home Inspection is an essential part of the home buying process. This non-invasive service includes the inspection of visible and readily accessible systems such as: interior and exterior structure, roofing systems, HVAC including duct work, plumbing, and electrical systems. This service also includes an inspection for evidence of wood destroying fungi and wood destroying insects.
Confirm that the water, electrical and gas services are turned on, and that gas pilot lights are lit. Replace burned-out light bulbs to avoid a "light is inoperable" report that may suggest an electrical problem. Unlock any locked areas that I, your home inspector, must access, such as the attic door or hatch, the door to the basement/crawlspace, and any exterior gates.
I hired Scott of Good Foundations to do a complete inspection of my mother-in-law's home here in Greensboro. To say he did a complete and thorough job is an understatement! The 49-page report he submitted to us was detailed and precise and included photos of everything that needs attention. His report included both a summary and details on each item, and has made it easy for us to prioritize how we are going to address each issue.

Scott saved us from making big mistake ... house had been " flipped" and looked great !! But as Scott did inspection a myriad of serious problems were discovered... He is just super dedicated and professional... we were Wowed by the pretty work but the bones of house were a mess !!! Thank God for his inspection.. we would have bought a money pit...

Scott was incredibly professional and extremely thorough. As first time home buyers coming from out of state who couldn't be at the inspection, we were very anxious about the whole process. Scott did an absolutely incredible home inspection for us. He was at the house for over four hours and produced a 40+ page report annotated with photos. I have worked with three other home inspectors before Scott and he was by far the best. He looks at everything in the house systematically and in great detail. It is a challenge to find good inspectors, but Scott is the best.

I can't recommend Scott at Good Foundations Home Inspections enough! Scott was highly recommended by my realtor and for good reason. I am a first time home buyer and called around to get a few quotes about getting a home inspected so I could talk to the inspectors before hiring one. Scott from Good Foundations was very friendly and helpful so I decided to make an appointment. During the inspection he was glad that I followed him so I could learn more about my potential home. He was extremely thorough and answered all my questions and gave me additional information on some of the concerns I had. After he finished the report I looked through it and was very impressed.
