Services
I have been involved in the construction industry for over 38 years. I became a licensed general contractor at age 25 (NC General Contractor License # 80942). After spending many years in both the commercial and residential construction industry, I decided to take the next step in my career. The home inspection business was a perfect fit for my talents and interests.
The average home inspection usually takes 2-4 hours depending on the house size, age, foundation type, etc. I usually have the report back the same day or the following morning. Pictures are included in the inspection reports along with the model/serial numbers and date of manufacture of HVAC systems and water heaters.
Bass Home Inspections offers 203k consulting services as well. Edwin Bass is a licensed HUD 203k consultant- AO813. In simple terms, the 203k loan is a type of home improprovement loan program insured thru the FHA that works by allowing homebuyers the ability to finance the purchase and cost of upgrades through one single mortgage.
Edwin has been my go-to guy for home inspections ever since 2006 when he first became an active inspector. I am a broker in charge of a small real estate company in Kernersville and highly recommend Bass Home Inspections. He consistently does a great job, knowledgeable in his field, thorough with every inspection, and a professional.
A home inspection is an objective visual examination of a home's structure, systems, and mechanical systems. Think of it as a full physical check up but only for a house. The home inspector is required to observe readily accessible and visible installed systems which include: structural components, exterior roofing, plumbing, electrical, heating, central air conditioning, interiors, built in kitchen appliances, insulation, and ventilation.

Report
Edwin Bass, Jr recently inspected our home and we were very displeased .
He must have let attic door/stairs slam shut so that the globe on light fixture broke and fell down stairs . He said it wasn’t secure.. (lie. ) and had nerve to take picture of light fixture saying it needed a cover.
That globe has been secure for 10 yrs.
His report was full of nit- picky details, several of which are up to HOA to fix.
He repeated the same minute details over and over to create a 28 page report.
He must have wanted customers/buyers to feel like they get their money’s worth.
He suggested expensive
