Services
California Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP) is the only organization solely dedicated to advancing the specialty of family medicine in the state. Since 1948, CAFP has championed the cause of family physicians and their patients. CAFP is critically important to primary care, with a strong collective voice of more than 10,000 family physician, family medicine resident and medical student members.
Advocacy is the way for family physicians to learn about important health policy topics, legislation, and politics - and turn that knowledge into action by influencing the laws that affect patients and family physician practices. Join CAFP as we bridge the gap between health care and advocacy to make a difference in the profession of family medicine across the state. As a Key Contact, you will inform your state legislators and/or US Congressional representatives about critical health care issues in California.
The Family Physicians Political Action Committee (FP-PAC) is a bipartisan group dedicated to helping pro-family medicine candidates win election to public office and educating current legislators on the importance of family medicine. FP-PAC is the ONLY political organization whose sole mission is to promote family physicians and family medicine.
Family physicians are an essential pillar of the health care system, and medical students and residents are the future of family medicine. CAFP advocates for increased numbers and distribution of family physicians to meet the needs of all Californians, and supports medical students and residents as they train to excel in practice.
