Services
Arthroscopic surgeries generally take 1-2 hours to complete. The incisions are small. Patients experience less pain, return home on the same day, and are able to resume their normal activities sooner. Dr. Cheung has treated patients at all levels. As a specialist in all aspects of shoulder and elbow disorders, Dr. Cheung will help you obtain pain relief and function so that you can remain active and live life to your fullest.
Cheung was very nice, a good listener, and a calm presence, which is good for me, since surgery is an option that I wish didn't have to take. We talked over the history of my shoulder problem and the MRI results, and easily came to the conclusion that arthroscopic debridement was the best option for me.

Dr. Cheung literally changed my life. I'm a 49 year old life-long athlete and am still extremely active. After my third rotator cuff tear on the same shoulder I was told by my Orthopedic surgeon that it couldn't be repaired with a typical surgery. I was referred to Dr. Cheung for a new procedure called a lower trapezius transfer. And that this would be particularly good for those who need to continue to have strength in the joint for working out. Based on my research and talking with a number of surgeons, I learned that Dr. Cheung is incredibly well regarded as a top tier expert in shoulders

Dr. Emilie Cheung is so wonderful! She gave me back my arm. She is compassionate, and has a great bedside manner. She put me at ease on day of surgery and was with me every step of the way through recovery.
Dr. Cheung is a skillful surgeon. I had no complication with my total elbow replacement surgery. I can not say enough about how wonderful she is. Her staff is fabulous! especially Susan Bromley PA-C what a wonderful, caring and very understanding person. She was so supportive, answered all my questions and helped me thorough my recovery. Both my husband and I have been Emilie Cheung's patient and we both could not be more impressed with her skill, compassion and backed up by a great staff. I had come to her with a very complicated infection that was the result of a total shoulder replacement. Of all the doctors we interviewed, she was by far, the most clear and helpful as we decided with course that needed to be taken.

I managed to get a P acne (Propionibacterium acnes) infection when I had a total shoulder replacement at Kaiser (not their fault). I was absolutely blessed to be introduced to Dr. Cheung who managed my treatment over the next two years.
I cannot say enough about her professionalism, bed side manner and just plain fantastic results. Best of all, she explained the various ways that we could treat the infection in a clear and empathic way. I guess the two words that capture her approach are empathy and outstanding skills.
If I could give her six stars I would.
