If I could give Dr. Sun negative stars, I would. Dr. Sun was my mother's doctor. He was not just ineffective, but uncaring and dangerous. My mother was in excruciating back pain, and when she called Dr. Sun to help her, he told her to wait until her normal appointment a week later. She told him she was living "hour to hour" when he was talking about days. He did not offer any remedy. She went to the hospital a few days later, where they discovered a bone infection. When she told Dr. Sun, he gave her another infusion (which is actually against all medical advice by three other doctors

I'm remiss in letting my review of this miraculous physician lapse. It is almost exactly one year after major anterior/posterior lumbar fusion surgery. I postponed it as long as I could. The first surgeon ( Dr Sakiomoto) scared me and gave me a 50 percent chance that I would be about the same post surgery, 25% chance that I would be much better and 25% chance that I would me much worse. At the tine I was in such excruciating pain that I could not stand, sit, walk or sleep. I wanted a second opinion! It was not easy to find a surgeon comfortable with performing my surgery. It was complicated

Very very good doctor who solved my spine problem and left arm pain right away without resorting to surgery. He sent me to Aero Physical Therapy in Burlingame and they fixed my pain problem in only two sessions without taking medications. The doctor I saw before Dr Sun suggested surgery and The worst part was that I have to pay almost $20 thousand out of pocket money cause my Medicare and Anthem insurance would not be fully accepted . Dr Sun was very honest and forward by telling me I didn’t need surgery. I appreciate his honesty and his knowledge in his specialty .

I visited Dr. Sun for a consultation regarding the possibility of surgery to alleviate severe chronic back pain. I've already had four operations including a five level fusion as well as numerous spine injections of varying types. Dr. Sun examined my radiological films and other treatments, and he engaged me in an extensive discussion about my symptoms. He concluded that surgery might address a particular structural issue in my spine, but he was emphatic that surgery was not going to relieve my pain. Although I was disappointed, I appreciate Dr. Sun's thorough evaluation and his conclusion

Dr Sun has been taking care of my husband for quite some time now. All the care my husband has received from Dr Sun has had a positive effect on my husband. My husband has suffered from pain for years, he had been referred to physical therapy, exercises etc by his primary physician and Dr Sun was our last resort. The care my husband received has improved his pain so much he wished he saw Dr Sun from the beginning.
The office staff here are very professional and caring. This is a great office

This Dr. has no problem taking my initial business, yet when I was told by an advice nurse to reach out to him because I had an adverse reaction to pain management medicine dosage that I took/that he had told me to take, but he couldn't be bothered to call me back (it was afterhours). I had to call them back the next day. The receptionist/nurse (?) said that he expected me to call upon another previous Dr (that I am no longer seeing - it says that on my chart) or my podiatrist that has nothing to do my neck and back issues (issues that HE is supposed to be in charge of). Basically, his office

Dr. Sun saved me from paralysis. I was referred to Dr. Sun for surgery as a cervical vertebra had almost completely crushed my spinal cord and I was rapidly using the use of my limbs. Dr. Sun answered my questions before surgery, performed the surgery well and was sensitive to things that I could care less about, such as the placement or degree of the surgical scar. It's a year later now and everything is holding up well. I'll admit that he doesn't always seem very empathetic, but the truth is that I don't want that in a surgeon: He was always friendly, but forthright and with

I was referred to Dr. Sun through my PCP for severe back pain due to a sports injury. Dr. Sun ordered an MRI right away at Seton and was able to see me shortly thereafter and diagnosed 2 herniated discs. Not severe enough for immediate surgery, I was referred to PT and a TENS unit for pain. We also tried oral steroids. After a couple months, of not much pain improvement, we did an epidural injection which helped a little more. After more PT, a follow-up MRI showed not much physical change, but my lengthy treatment has made me virtually pain-free. I worked hard over many months to help heal myself

If you are suffering with neck/back pain, visit Dr. Sun. After suffering with pain for almost a year, my PCP referred me to Dr. Sun in late 2011. After an MRI showed herniated disks, he suggested PT and an epidural. Neither worked for me and I had the fusion surgery in May of 2012. I'm happy to say I have been pain free since then. He has an excellent bedside manner and his staff is friendly and competent. I wish he could have done my knee surgery as well. Dr. Sun is the best!!!

Dr. Sun came highly recommended to me by my internist. Dr. Sun is an excellent doctor and surgeon. He is professional, conscientious, and caring. His staff is great too. Dr. Sun clearly explained to me my medical situation, was very reasonable in my options, and answered all my questions. I chose him as my surgeon and I had excellent results. Thanks Dr. Sun!

I was referred to Dr. Sun by my workers comp doctor who assured me he has a good success rate.
I was able to schedule pretty quickly (compared to the usual wait time for spine docs) and his office is easy to find with private parking. The office is pretty small (and a bit cluttered in the back), but the staff was kind and the doctor ran on schedule.
The actual appointment was very brief. He chuckled a bit at how extremely serious my injury is and told me I definitely need surgery, but it will be an ongoing need... and the message was relayed in sort of a cold, "you're screwed!"
