Ruth has been serving these populations in private practice out of Wheaton, IL, for over 25 years, and her joy in participating in their journeys toward growth, success, new life, is ever present and always growing! She encourages her clients, guiding them towards realizing and actualizing their true strengths, uniqueness, lovability, and their potential for success in life.
Learning disabilities (LD) are neurologically-based disorders that interfere with a person's ability to learn, with varying degrees of severity. Ruth is fully trained in and uses Project Read, a spin-off program of Orton Gillingham's multisensory and phonics-based language program, based out of Minnesota.
When a student's academic performance is not where it could be - students are not at their true learning potential, or they're failing one or more subjects, they are showing their need for additional guidance, instruction, and support. Ruth's goals are for young people to love learning, to start actualizing their own true learning potential, and to embrace learning and growing as integral parts of their everyday lives.
Executive functioning skills are the mental processes that enable us to manage our daily lives well, through our thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. These skills allow us to accomplish what we need to, to succeed and thrive in life, and to realize and actualize our own dreams and goals. We use these skills moment to moment every day.
Life skills training is Ruth's absolute passion and forte! When other services are needed, she is always training and coaching various life skills as well. There's almost always more than one choice we can make with any circumstance we face.

We can become Options People, learning we always have Active Choice moment to moment, and with each option, each choice, realizing what the consequences positive or negative will be, accepting the consequence(s), and move forward.
