Knowing what your valuables are worth is always a sensible thing to do, being it your jewelry, watches or sterling silver. This is why it's important to keep your appraisals up to date, especially given the continuing rise in the gold and gemstone markets.
Independent appraisers are not in the business of buying or selling jewelry so they are likely to be unbiased-and this can also mean they are less likely to overvalue your jewelry as a way to please you as a customer. For the most part, insurance companies prefer that your jewelry appraisals be done by an independent appraiser, as opposed, for example, to someone employed by a jewelry store.

The most important reason for having an appraisal done is for jewelry insurance replacement value in case of loss. An appraisal provides you with protection for proper reimbursement. If you lose your jewelry, you have a document describing your item in exact and extensive detail- stone measurements, clarity, and color - quality and value of the item.
There are times when you want a record of your jewelry items or personal jewelry catalog. You may not need the full detail that an appraisal will give, but you want a document with digital pictures of your items, their condition, and value. A document will need to be created that shows, on a current day, these items where seen and recorded.
Occasionally many of us acquire fine jewelry that no longer is of use to us. It may be jewelry inherited from a grandmother, a great aunt, a past relationship or similar type circumstance. On such occasions, I can guide you through this process and give you a means of selling your jewelry in complete confidentiality.
This option is most appropriate for those who need professional documentation for insurance, estate, or resale purposes. It also includes a grading report of diamonds larger than 1 carat. The stones may be loose or mounted.
This option is useful for those of you who have many items to identify, either for an estate or personal use, and don't need the level of detail a full written appraisal document would provide, or if the items fall below an insurance deductible. This option is the most appropriate if you just want to find our what your items are worth, but you don't need written documentation.

Aimee provided excellent professional appraisal services. She encouraged me to be present, answered my questions, explained what she was looking at and how that affected an appraisal. She provided me with clearly written documentation that I was able to use to insure some items that needed coverage.
I have been singing her praises to friends who mention that they have some jewelry that needs appraising. I would use her services again without hesitation.

There is no one better in the business! Aimee provides helpful information, great advice and is a funny, nice person to boot. I have been using her for years, and have sent many friends and family members to use her services as well, all with rave reviews. She is multi-purposed for appraisals, sales and finding the difficult piece of jewelry (including helping design). She is flexible and prompt, and is really looking out for your best interests. I can't recommend her enough!
