Born in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, residing in Boston, Massachusetts, Mau Mau began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 12. Mau Mau ended the 2014 year Ranked #1 in the World at Medium and Open Weight through the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF). He has continued his dominance throughout the 2015 season already capturing many titles including the IBJJF New York Open Gold Medal in Medium weight as well as Open Weight.

I don't think I understood what people mean by saying "family" about MauMau's academy before coming here. The atmosphere in this academy is incredible. I'm constantly feeling as if I was generously invited to a Brazilian family dinner. No BS, no politics, just positive energy and endless learning from a world-class teacher and each other ❤️❤️❤️

Professor Mau Mau Robson Rodrigues runs a top notch BJJ Academy! He is very friendly and helpful. He has a great group of guys that train at his school. I am just visiting the Boston area. Professor John Piper at Charlotte Jiu Jitsu Academy highly recommended Mau Mau's academy. If you live in the area near Medford, I definitely recommend you train at this academy. If you are traveling through like I was, you will definitely fine some good healthy camaraderie at this school. Oss!

Professor Robson “Mau Mau” is the best BJJ instructor in Massachusetts! He’s very patient and knowledgeable. He will take his time to explain and help your BJJ game.
Mau Mau academy also has a Muay Thai instructor name Dave. Dave is a very good Muay Thai instructor. I also recommend training at Mau Mau if you want to improve your striking skills.

We were fortunate to have Professor Mau Mau come to Charlotte and teach a Kimura seminar. The seminar was phenomenal! Prof. Mau Mau took the time to answer any and all questions with a big smile and genuine care. A few months after the seminar and it seems everyone still has Kimura on the brain. Thank you for sharing a little bit of your knowledge with us Prof Mau Mau! Whether you're new to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or a seasoned veteran you can’t go wrong training with Mau Mau. As of 1/26/17 I've been with Mau Mau Bjj for 1 year. Thanks to a great coach/instructor & fellow students that welcome you, like an old friend, my life has improved in many ways. Training here, along with the jiu-jitsu lifestyle, has greatly helped my type1 diabetes, my confidence & sense of well-being. Jiu-jitsu, with MauMauBjj, has changed my life.

Mau-Mau BJJ is a great place to train! I love it here and come as much as possible. The training is serious, but the classes are still fun. Mau-Mau is extremely knowledgeable and is always present to help each student. It's a good place if you want to compete but that's not a requirement. The students are friendly and welcoming to everyone. As a female, I really appreciate that aspect of the gym. There is no nonsense with payments. No contracts to worry about either which is nice. Definitely give it a try if your looking for a place to train.
