My daughter joined Classical Ballet Theatre when she was 5 years old. She has been taking classes for 4 years. The first day she cried because she was shy and nervous when she entered the classroom. Now she loves ballet, enjoys every practice, performance, and is able to stand confidently on the stage.
We offer pure classical ballet instruction, rhythmic gymnastic ribbon dance, competitions, and professional performance opportunities to all students age 3 to teens. Classical Ballet Theatre: CBT Academy offers pure classical ballet classes in Torrance, California. Our mission is to enrich people's lives with creativity, culture, and tradition that educates and entertains. Artistic Director Kotomi R. Matsuda has performed with internationally recognized companies and masters from the Moscow City Ballet, the Vaganova Ballet Academy, and the New York City Ballet.
This class improves posture, listening skills, focus, teamwork, discipline, rhythmic dance, skips, turns, jumps, flexibility, 1st arabesque, steady balance and how to point toes. The smiles abound as our littlest stars discover the Joy of Dance in this fun and lively class. Students learn basic movement and coordination while the cheerful, energetic environment inspires confidence and expression.
Barre exercises, center work, partnering, waltz steps, 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions & variations Fun and energy remain the focus as our blossoming ballerinas sharpen their skills. Students will develop hidden talents and improve their expressions. Ballet I is for dancers who have completed Beginner level Ballet I and II.
As they study variations from the great ballets, our ballerinas will be encouraged to add artistry, emotion and creative expression to their dance. Building on what was learned in Ballet I, the number of steps is increased. Turns are introduced, and steps are combined to form combinations. 5th position is now used, and turn out, when appropriate, is increased.
