As always, wonderful care & service from Dr Gary and team. Education is the focus of all the cleanings and Dr Gary makes sure you have every option for preventative maintenance and less-invasive treatments. And every time I go, the office has updated their procedures to incorporate the very latest techniques and technology. And certainly, I feel they've been very covid-safe. The kind, cheerful team is as adorable as ever.

It was great meeting him. I had emergency situation last day of hawaii. He responded me quick, and opened the office for me on Sunday. Dr. Umeda is very kind and very very professional. He explains me options, details.. (but, i was still in shocked and hard to make decision tho.). But I was very appreciated and I highly recommend his office.

Dr. Umeda is the best. He really cares about your teeth and thinks of the longterm effect of your teeth. Minimal treatment is the best treatment!
I went to another dentist for a year and ended up getting multiple teeth operations which did not need to happen. Some dentists are in it for the money! Now that I'm back with Dr. Umeda, I am a very satisfied customer.
The only downside is that his services are mostly not covered by insurance, but that's the premium you pay for getting the best service. Pay more for better preventative care, or pay physically more for unnecessary oral treatments? I

Dr. Umeda and his staff are truly THE BEST. He is kind, thoughtful & gentle. He is also continually pushing himself to learn and is always up to date on the latest advancements in medicine. Dr. Umeda is one of those rare physicians who actually want to heal & help you be the best you can possibly be. In this day and age, I'm extremely grateful there are still a few doctors who made career choices for altruistic purposes rather than financial gain. Dr. Umeda is one of those priceless gems!

I haven't gone to the dentist since I was a kid due to horrible experiences. Dr. Umeda is awesome!!! His staff are so friendly and I automatically felt comfortable the moment I walked in. Also, he was very friendly, patient, and talked me through the entire thing. It was nice to also be able to see what was being done throughout the whole cleaning. It was also a learning experience. I'm happy to say that being afraid of the dentist for me is now a thing of the past! :)

Dr. Gary is NO KA OI! He not only takes care of my teeth and gums but gives me a lifelong plan to maintain optimum health overall. His knowledge of how every bodily system is connected and how imbalances, diet, and lifestyle show up in your teeth is really inspiring. As I get older I am more concerned with dry mouth. I've been going to Dr. Gary since the 1980's. Yes, that's almost four decades, but there's a reason: he's the BEST dentist I ever had. Dr. Gary genuinely cares about us and does what ever he needs to do to get the most up-to-date training on the most up-to-date techniques. He not only takes care of teeth and gums, but educates us on how the entire body works to contribute to oral hygiene and good health all around. He has and lives by very positive values, such as honesty, integrity, and compassion, and genuinely loves what he does. Five stars is not enough for Dr. Gary

I've spent a lot of time and money on my teeth since I was young due to braces and cracked molars. A co-worker referred me to Dr. Umeda in 2010 and he has helped me not lose any more molars. No other dentist except Dr. Umeda told me that I clenched my jaw at night causing my molars to crack.
The other dentists would just put a porcelain crown on which failed due to my jaw strength. Dr. Umeda replaced them all with gold which costs more but will last forever. He also gave me a nightguard to protect my inve$tment.
They bill my insurance but I have to pay upfront and wait for the ins to pay

Gary Umeda is the best dentist in the world. He was able to cure me of my deep "Fear of the Dentist". My teeth are so perfect now. I tell everybody how wonderful my dentist is. He taught me to love my teeth and how to take good care of my teeth. I'm so happy that I met Gary Umeda many many years ago. Gary T Umeda has been my dentist for a number of years and to be very honest, he is the only dentist that I've genuinely liked. Not only does this dentist come up with individualized treatment plans for each patient, but the patient is usually given more than one treatment option for his teeth. Addditipthe patient make the final decision as to what kind of treatment he gets.

Dr. Umeda is by far my favorite dentist EVER!!! And I've seen alot of dentists because I was in the military for 15 years.
He is VERY thorough and explains everything from the get-go! I love that he empowers his patience and lets them watch everything he is doing. His practice is very conservative and his goal is patient care not lets get all money I can out of this one.
If you choose him for your dentist you won't be disappointed!

Dr. Umeda and his team are by far the best on the island. From scheduling, follow ups, and procedures him and his staff are hands down the best. They always make you feel welcomed and at home. Whatever the financial case he tries to work with you, he cares about his patients and treats them like family and it's evident in his practice.
His office is located in the center of Honolulu across from Don Quiote. Scheduling is preferred, and they always make sure to follow up every six months or before an appointment.

I've been going to Dr Gary since I was around 10 years old and he is the best! I always look forward to visiting their office because everyone is kind and caring and I know I am getting the very best from Dr. Gary. I had a bunch of cavities as a kid and every time he drilled and filled, I knew I was in excellent hands and had no fear of pain or mistakes. However his goal is for my teeth to be healthy enough to never need another filling. Dr. Umeda is one of the finest Dentists on the island. He's been doing my dental work since i was born! And once in a while, I've had to see other dentists for this reason (being off island) or that reason (temporarily being uninsured. EVERY other dentist I have seen has complemented my dental work. His staff is very friendly. I love the hygienists, especially Jamie. Be prepared to pay a little more at Dr. Umeda's. Also, although they do have finance plans available so you can pay for your care, you'll have to front the cost of your visit yourself. They don't accept
