We are a peer led insight meditation group in Austin offering weekly meditation, retreats, book discussions, beginning instruction and Dharma talks. Join Carolyn Kelley for a day of mindfulness. We will focus on steadying and strengthening our practice, through the storms of current circumstances. You are welcome to join the Thursday night sangha zoom, whether or not you have attended the monthly Introduction.

Services
We bring together a community of people in Austin and Central Texas who practice insight meditation to support each other in the deepening of Dharma practice in our daily lives. We hope that our practice will promote peace and compassion in the world around us and believe that through the sharing of the Dharma we can free ourselves and others from suffering.
Insight Meditation (known as Vipassana in the Buddhist tradition) is a simple technique which has been practiced in Asia for over 2,500 years. It is a spiritual practice shared by all forms of Buddhism, as well as a particular historical Buddhist tradition. Beginning with the focusing of attention on the breath, the practice concentrates and calms the mind.
On the third Saturday of each month (unless otherwise noted) we meet for silent and guided meditation, walking meditation, and dharma reflections from 10am to 3pm. The link to register for each Saturday will be posted a few weeks beforehand, and a zoom link for the day will be sent in the email acknowledging registration.

Mariposa Sangha is a very welcoming group and offer Insight meditation in the style of Joseph Goldstein and Jack Kornfield. There are senior students with many years of experience who present the teachings and are very welcoming to beginners, as well as people who have experience meditating. The atmosphere is informal and there is very little ritual, just a strong desire to suffer less and cause less suffering for others.
