Alexandria VIP Cab
All Alexandria City Taxi Cabs carry commercial insurance coverage. Unlike many ride-sharing services, this is a pre-requisite for operating in the city and transporting passengers. Both Taxi Cab drivers and Companies adhere to Alexandria City's Rules and Regulations. These Ordinances are updtaed on an as needed basis and are designed to protect the public.

In addition to the City Ordinances, Alexandria City enforces all regulations through its HACK office. Regular inspection, licensing and insurance compliance, as well as other routine management, are handled by this office. Alexandria City Drivers are independent contractors, however, they must be affiliated with a Taxi Cab Company before they are permitted to operate in the city.

Most cab rides are unremarkable. My last ride with Alexandria VIP was not. We were picked up at National Airport and driven to my house in Arlington without any issues. About 40 minutes after I got home, I realized that my phone was missing. My friend began calling my phone, and the cab driver answered. He had found the phone under the front seat when he heard it ringing. He agreed to drive back to my house immediately to return the phone. I had my phone back in less than 15 minutes. He literally went out of his way for me, and I appreciate it.

Cab number 1604 - I took the cab from National Airport to Rosslyn. After paying 17.00 with a 20.00 and receiving 3.00 in change, the cabbie, a 50+ year old Middle Eastern man driving car number 1604, became very agitated, likely because he was not going to receive a tip, began calling me a MothXX XXucker, an SOB, saying FuXX you, and then feigned rushing me and taking a swing at me. He then got back into his car, and began advancing his car at me like he would run me over.

This guy was a total lunatic, clearly angry at being a taxi driver, and should not be allowed to interact with customers

Correction to the previous review, sorry you did not get ripped off, this is what the Airport Authority charges the cab drivers and they have to charge the customer. If you read the pamphlet DCA gives you before you get into a cab, it clearly mentions this charge.
I had to say this because I have used VIP services many times in Alexandria and we have been very pleased.

I called 2 hours ahead of time to get picked up from work by 3:50pm. I called at 3:55pm ask get a status on the location of my driver and was told that he was 5 minutes away. At 4:03 I called again ( still polite and respectful....not the outrageous type) and asked where my driver was consider it was well over 5 minutes. I was then informed that they did not service my area and that they called another taxi company on my behalf that would be there in 10 minutes. I asked for the direct number to the taxi cab company so that I could confirm this information I was given. However, before I got off
