We can pick up or drop off in Washington, DC as long as the other end of the trip is in Montgomery County (this is a law that we must follow). We can pick you up in any of the following cities in Montgomery County and transport you to IAD, DCA, or BWI airports.

In 1960, Harry Barnes started a taxi company in Bethesda. A business that began with a few taxis grew to a fleet of 45 by 1964. The company currently has a fleet of almost 500 vehicles. Barwood is privately held and is operated by Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lee Barnes. Close, personal attention, care and involvement make for effective management and the retention of key personnel, resulting in excellent customer service.
Barwood Taxi offers personal and corporate charge accounts for customers who use taxis at least once a week. There is an administrative fee of 6% charged to the total amount of your invoice. We provide online billing services at no charge and email or mail invoices twice per week. By opening a Barwood charge account you will have access to WebCharge where you can download your detailed invoices and voucher images at no additional cost.

If you have a special event and would like to request VIP service, please let us know and we'll be happy to assist you with your ground transportation options. Book us for your wedding or party. Barwood Taxi can help transport you and your guests from the hotel or home to the reception hall. You can reserve one or more taxis for a minimum of 4 hours to provide your guests exclusive service.
Barwood Wheelchair Vans (TaxiPlus vehicles) are modified minivans with wheelchair ramps or lifts that are capable of accommodating customers that are wheelchair bound and can also transport additional passengers; allowing our Wheelchair Van (TaxiPlus) customers to travel independently or with (a) companion(s), in comfort and security.

Terrible, terrible terrible service. I ordered a taxi 5 hours before i needed it. I am going to the airport. After 10 minutes past its due time, i called to ask where it was. They told me it was at least 40 minutes away. So I am going to the airport, they think I can be an hour late for my flight and the airplane will just wait for me! They never even thought of giving me a call to tell me they were running an hour late. TERRIBLE! Will never use this company again. NEVER!

This company is unprofessional rude and doesn’t care. I was getting discharged from the hospital and my social worker and nurses set my ride up. It took several calls about 3 rides 3 different times given canceled and rides and all this took about 3 hours. It was mess and the manager was useless, and also impossible to speak to. The hospital staff had to take time out to keep calling and wait with me down stairs confronting cabs to see if they were the right ones. I was told to get away from the cabin close the door because my ride was canceled… I have no idea why and the cab driver just drove

Cab was 15 minutes late and estimate online to airport was $38.00 actual cost $59.50. Cab had every possible engine light on and rattled, wobbled and beeped the entire 30 min ride.

I had booked a wheelchair transport 48 hours in advance. I was provided a confirmation number and told the reservation was set. When the pick up time came and no one was there I called. I was told they were still trying to "fill my order." It took 20 more minutes for a driver to show up. However he did not properly secure my father and he nearly fell out of the chair as soon as the driver hit his brakes for the first time!! This was a major safety concern and unacceptable. Well a zero would appropriate, but the ratings won't allow those.

Called and reserved a ride from BWI Airport to Gaithersburg a week before our scheduled flight. As we were carrying golf clubs, we asked for a larger vehicle. We were told a van would be sent to pick us up. We received an email confirmation with everything appropriately listed (date, time, extra luggage, pickup and dropoff locations). Since the time of the plane arriving at BWI was 11:50 pm, we asked and were assured that they would have a taxi there, no problem.

I used this taxi company for a week because they were the only one listed at the hotel that would go where I needed. On the second day I arranged to be picked up, my cab was supposed to arrive in twenty minutes. 1 1/2 hours and 4 calls later it finally picked my up. For the return trip from Hyattsville back to the hotel they arrived in 10 minutes. Two days later when I called for a return trip they refused to pick us up because they said they don't pick up in Hyattsville. Yet they not only did so 2 days before but I have a receipt from that pick up back to the hotel. Not only do they operate like

Not dependable, which is the worst thing a taxi company can do as what they sell is taking you from point A to be point B at a given time. We reserved a van to take us to the airport for an international flight. Van did not show up at the agreed upon time. When we called them 10 minutes after the agreed upon time, they said they could not find a van yet and it may take another 30 minutes or so!! We had to cancel the reservation and called uber.

Company was a no show for a confirmed reservation to the airport. Received email confirmation the day before when I made the reservation but company claims no record of the reservation and that it was cancelled (never mind that it can't really be both). Company is unreliable. Will use other transportation from now on. Done with this company.

If I can give this a zero star review I would. My patient scheduled a ride yesterday for 6:45pm pick up today from Walter Reed hospital. We came down at the scheduled time, waited for 15min and called. They proceed to say they had no such ride scheduled in the system. They then said a driver would arrive in 20min. After waiting another 30mins, we called back and again the agency proceeded to say a driver would be out in 15min. ANOTHER 30mins go by. That is an HOUR and a half of waiting. We call, they now proceed to say that driver that was on their way had broke down and needed a tow but another

The driver was driving crazy. He was rude, yelling at me shaking his head said he didn't have to answer my questions. Kept trying to argue with me. He came with an attitude and I hope know one else will ever get this driver. They need to talk to this guy. This was the first time in years i used this service.

Looks like Barwood and Regency Taxi are the same companies.
My daughter called Regency on 18 June to schedule a pick-up at 4am from Bethesda to Reagan National Airport.
Taxi didn’t show up. She called to see what’s going on. Person on phone said there’s was no scheduled pickup. Person on phone was rude too.
Daughter ended up using Uber. Thank goodness line to check in and security was short.
Be careful with these people and their sister companies. IF you decide to use them, then plan for a backup an give enough time to get to the airport. When I will make my trips to the DC area in the

Horrible service. Had to be at union Station by 7am to catch a train, setup to have barwood pick me up at 5:45am, by 6:15 still no cab, called and was told they are still waiting to dispatch a driver, said it would be at least another 20 minutes, cancelled the cab, frantically got an uber who got me to Union Station in 17 minutes because I was already so late from messing around with this joke of a cab company. Myself, my family, and my company will never use them again.

I called Barwood Taxi on Feb 14, 2021 for a ride home from the Glenmont Metro Station. There is a taxi queue there daily so I didn't expect any problems but when I got off the train and got outside there were no taxis waiting, so unusual. I spoke to a woman who answered the phone, I gave her all the necessary information, she repeated it back, she gave me an estimated wait time and we hung up. After 30 minutes I called for a status update on the arrival of the taxi at which time she claimed she had no record of my call and no taxi was requested! Seriously how incompetent is this woman , totally

Actually can't say enough good things about my experience with Barwood. I had to travel across the country for military duty so my departure times were super late at night and subject to flight delays. Each driver was either precisely on time or early enough to pick me up from Dulles despite the change in my arrival time. It actually took a lot of the stress out of my travel knowing that the taxi cab company was flexible enough to get me home and polite enough to load the 75lbs of gear I was carrying into the trunk for me.

Booking is easy and efficient. Operators work hard to get accurate passenger, pickup and drop off information. Most drivers are experienced professionals who are careful on the road, polite and pleasant.

However, other drivers make the ride unpleasant by complaining about how much they make and what is required of them. I've experienced it several times. It's not something a passenger should have to hear. With so many other transportation options, most of which provide faster service by drivers who are happy to be working, taxi service is not currently my first choice.

This is the worst taxi service in the nation. I was made to wait one hour and a half for a taxi and the representatives are rude and discurtious. No apologies were given and I was lied to by the person answering the phones. Even under new ownership, Harwood continues to be one of the most unreliable taxis services in the nation. It's time for them to go!!!!!!

Do not use! Especially if you need wheelchair transportation or for your taxi to show up on the correct day. They are incompetent and clearly can't show up anywhere on time or use a gps. Their customer service was nice but every time we called to find out where our taxi was they gave use some random, longer time estimate then the one prior... there are too many other options to deal with this headache!

The disappointing and unprofessional service from this company leaves everyone I know astounded.
When we are connected with the call center, after the brief automated message, we are hung up on immediately. We call back - it happens again. Finally, after the fourth call, someone sounds like they are happy to take the order, informing us the wait will be "20-30 mins." Okay, sure. That's standard.

I am surprised they are still in business.

Took a cab this morning 1.7 miles and it cost 10 bucks. Expensive to be sure. The driver was dismissive and rude. He went to go run my credit card but the machine was broken so he wanted to take my number and run it manually. I told him to call it in instead. He refused three times then told me to get out of his cab. I called Barwood to pay for the ride and got transfered three times. Called accounting and the number listed was (240) 514-1290 but the person has a full voicemail box and the system won't take messages.

If I could give less than one star I definitely would. Booked a taxi to pick me up at the Montgomery Mall. After waiting nearly an hour, called to confirm they were still sending a car, or get update on where they were, was told they were 4 minutes away. Another 15 minutes goes by, so I call again, once again told the car was only 10 minutes away. Almost an hour and a half from my initial booking a car shows up. This is a terrible company with crappy abusive reckless drivers, uncaring staff and it seems ethic to screw over the consumer as much as possible. This is a taxi company is a pure shame to the county.
