Nobody wants to set up a cremation for their loved one, never mind spend more time there than necessary. My family member recently passed away and I was dreading having to do this. I was afraid it was going to take forever and I would cry the whole time. That wasn't the case at all at Abbey. Luke was wonderful. He was very direct and to the point but also respectful. We were in and out quickly without a hassle or tears. Luke made the process painless for my family and I would recommend Abbey to friends and family 100%.

Very impolite, no obituary as other funeral home include in cremation, no urns just a bag and then boxed. Price higher than other funeral homes which include all services mentioned. Do you homework and don't use Abbeys cremation services. Good luck and sorry for your loss.

My parents learned of Abbey from a friend of the family. Since it was their wish to use abbey cremation service I went along with it (after checking the ridiculous prices of cremation closer to home). I couldn't be happier with our choice. We prepaid and any question I had filling out the paperwork they answered immediately. Very easy process. My husband, James Blumberg, passed away on September 11th of this year. We were told that he would be prepared, and he would have makeup applied by a cosmetologist. I was pretty disgusted at our private viewing. They washed his hair but they didn't comb it. It was one big matted mess. And there was ZERO makeup applied, because if there was his… entire forehead would not have been blood red. I understand that this place is the only place that DSS pays for cremation, but if you have to pay cash I'm sure you'll get top notch service. My ex husband & I lived together for 18 years and I cared for him for months before he passed away. His daughter & I went there and his daughter signed a waiver and consent form releasing his ashes to me (Laura Swanson) my sister Jeanne Kirby only paid for the cremation service because Carrie Jansen signed the consent forms needed.
I was told this morning that they released the ashes to Carrie Jansen... They can expect legal action from myself and sister! Don’t use these crooks!

I selected Abbey cremation because of a billboard advertisement and also because of the reasonable price.
My experience was not a good one. When my ex husband and best friend passed I contacted Abbey to employ their services. When filling out the necessary paperwork, I called to speak with Luke for help to make sure I was correctly filling out the papers. He asked me how I was related to the deceased and I did tell him that I was his ex wife. At that time he did not say that according to the State of Ct I was not authorized to be in charge of this. My father passed away unexpectedly at Waterbury Hospital on Sept 15,2017. I called a few places and Abbey's was priced ok. I called and spoke with Luke and he said that he would meet with me to talk over everything that needs to be done. I told him that I never had to do this before so I was not sure of everything. We live in RI and my father in law lived and passed away in CT. Luke was so nice and I felt comfortable right away when I called. I was in RI making phone calls while my husband was in CT taking care of what needed to be taken care of there. He answered all of my questions and I made an appointment with Luke for my husband for the very next morning. My husband felt the same way as soon as he met him. Luke was professional, knowledgeable, helpful and thoughtful. He made a tough time easier by making the process smooth and seamless. My mother passed and they were recommended by the staff at Middlesex Hospital. Their service is top shelf. No trying to sell you anything you don't need. We had discussed with her what she wanted and we explained it to the staff.
They provided everything we needed at a very reasonable cost. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone.
