Rewilding is a conservation biology term referring to the restoration of an area of land to its natural uncultivated state (used especially with reference to the reintroduction of species of wild animal that have been driven out or exterminated). Rewilding is a progressive approach to conservation.
It's about letting nature take care of itself, enabling natural processes to shape land and sea, repair damaged ecosystems and restore degraded landscapes. Through rewilding, wildlife's natural rhythms create wilder, more biodiverse habitats (Rewilding Europe). The Buddha teaches that the awakened heart and mind are already present in each of us, we just need to find our way there again by cutting through greed, hatred and delusion.

In the spirit of being as transparent as possible and in alignment with our community orientation, Wild Heart Meditation Center would like to publish some basic information about our financial picture. We're happy to discuss these numbers with our sangha at any time and hope that by providing access, it encourages everyone to consider their role in the financial health of the center.
With the Thanksgiving season approaching, we may be experiencing some complicated feelings about the historical context of the holiday and the ways in which we've been trained to believe that we discover our gratitude through compulsory public performances of it.
In this half-day workshop, we'll create space to deconstruct and discuss our experiences with compulsory gratitude, and practice techniques for more fully experiencing the spontaneous, embodied, and relational aspects of mindful gratitude. We will engage with some teachings on appreciative joy that can help guide us into a state of increased openness to good emotional surprises, like awe and impromptu rejoicing.

In retreat, through sustained meditation practice, we come to a deeper understanding and responsiveness with our internal world as we witness the ever-changing flow of the mind-body process. Meditation is the vehicle through which we develop the clarity and compassion needed to accept more fully the pleasure and pain, fear and joy, sadness and happiness that life inevitably brings.
A. Although donations are welcomed and encouraged for the stability of the community, there are no 'set' dues or fees associated with any of our classes or programs. No one is ever turned away from any WHMC programming due to lack of financial ability. As a non-profit, all donations that are received go directly to support the day-to-day operations of the organization.
Wild Heart Meditation Center (WHMC) exists to serve the buddhadharma and nourish the lives of our community members. Buddhist practice creates some vulnerability among practitioners and those who pursue the path must inevitably take some emotional and spiritual risks.
In this context, it becomes especially important that the teachers, facilitators and governing structure of Wild Heart Meditation Center support the welfare of the community members. The Teacher Code of Ethics codifies our expectations for the conduct of all individuals in a teaching role at Wild Heart Meditation Center.

We have only gone once, but going here was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is very relaxed, which compels people to be open and share their own personal experiences.
Mikey was a great speaker, had a calming voice and was very eloquent in his explanations of the teachings, all while intertwining them with the modern day.
We will definitely be back, and will probably become regulars. Grateful that we have a space like this so close to home.
