I have bought and sold homes in the past with good service from home inspectors. Michael Scher was recommended by a friend. After the inspection, Michael explained everything he would later include in his report. He didn't run through it. He spent a lot of time making sure I knew the big things and little things about the house I was purchasing. He taught me a lot about how things work and ways to avoid or prevent problems. I learned more from Michael than I would have if I had lived in that home for years! I highly recommend Austin Home Inspections.

We worked with Michael and he was amazing! Got to the house at 3pm was finished at 630pm and talked to us until after 8pm. He answered all of our questions. Was very thorough in his work. Took tons of pictures. Answered all my texts in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend them!! I would gladly work with them again!!

First time home buyer. Was very happy with Michaels' performance. His inspection was thorough and his insights were informative. At the end of his inspection, I met him onsite for a concise and focused out-brief on his material findings which furthered my understanding of the property and put the inspection report into context upon review. My realtor, having never worked with Michael before, also expressed similar sentiment in the through and structured nature of his inspection when I reviewed the report with her.

Buying a house in Austin is currently an overwhelming experience. Upon putting in an offer for a home, the window to get an inspection is smaller, and you’re basically trusting a stranger to provide the best feedback possible to decide if you’re marking the right decision. With all this additional pressure, we’re so grateful that we found Michael. Michael did an exceptionally methodical and detail oriented job of inspecting the home we are hoping to purchase. We were on a tiny crunch and he was able to come by the property on a single day's notice and was able to give us the report by the next working day. The report itself was very thorough and easy to understand for a first time home buyer like me.
He also did a fantastic job of explaining all the major issues to us during the time we were there in person. Highly recommend.

Wow, I never thought I'd be so impressed with an inspector that it would warrant a review but here we are! Michael is incredible, very professional, detailed and objective. He was able to give us a best - worst case observation that allowed my partner and I to make a very informed decision about our house purchase.
