I made a reservation for this hotel for May 2022. It was through Expedia and I chose the book now, pay later option. I was happy with my choice. Then days later, I see a pending charge from the hotel. I thought maybe it’s the authorization to see if the money is in the account…but why so early?? I messaged the hotel and was told that the manager should be able to answer on Monday. Monday came and went, and the charge hard posted to my account. I called the hotel and left a voicemail. I messaged them through Expedia. I got help from an Expedia agent to figure out why they charged me when I picked

This place was awesome to stay for a night. I'll definitely come back if I need to stay for a few days. Place was clean and tidy, has roku so you can connect your phone if you wanted to watch anything. Staff were nice and I would for sure recommend this place to stay in Long Beach. Plenty of convenience as well.

It didn't look like much when we pulled up. But the lobby was nice.
We received texts beforehand to welcome us.
Quaint small room , clean with free water, some instant coffee.
Note : no elevators and we were on the third floor. We had help with luggage going up - not coming down.
Rooms are small - first room didn't even have a bathroom in the room but down the hall - I requested another room and they moved us. Our bathroom in the second room was small and vented into the room - if someone had to go nr 2 and had no poopuri that room would have smelled.
Staff is friendly and willing

OMG. This place is amazing. The location is great, the staff so nice, the room clean and comfy, the bed is plush and amazing, the free coffee/water, wifi, copious TV channels, and organic papaya bath products--I'm in heaven and would recommend this spot to everyone looking for an affordable, chic, and welcoming place in Long Beach! Yes, some perks are paused due to COVID (no free breakfast or bikes to cruise town on) but they have discounted their rates to make up for these small edits. A classy place that you will love, right near the port and arts district and shopping

Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect. The price of this hotel is fairly affordable, so I was expecting to be let down once I arrived.
We checked in at the main office and were brought around to a different entrance for our unit. The staircase up was steep and would be challenging with luggage. Luckily, we didn't really have any.
The room itself was comfortable and clean. I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations, and I would stay again in the future and recommend to anyone traveling.

Totally love this boutique hotel, I founded on Orbitz and we stay there for a night. The room was cozy super clean and very cute, it was very close to all the restaurants on Pine Street, we felt very safe walking back and forth at really late hours. I completely recommend and I we'll definitely stay there again. Also, don't want to forget to mention customer service was amazing, they answer all my questions promptly.

Thank you, Hotel Royal for being so gracious with the contactless checkin, the reliable texts and helpful notes. This is a sweet little boutique hotel and we definitely will be back.
We stayed in their "west wing" which made me feel special since it's one of my favorite TV shows. ;) Nice room - pretty large, a good fridge, coffeemaker, great TV/Roku system, very secure.
The bed was amazingly comfortable - a brand new memory foam mattress! There was plenty of room though no closet. No biggie. We only stayed for 2 nights, anyway. OMG THE SHOWER. I wanted to live in that shower

We stayed here and loved that it was centrally located in downtown Long Beach! We could walk to everything! Restaurants, shopping, the aquarium, and more were all walkable. I liked the option to park in the gated parking garage for a small fee. The front desk was very accommodating and checked in with us using texts which was convenient. Our room had everything we really needed. This quaint hotel was a fun experience in itself!

The hotel is fantastic. Honestly the customer service is the best part, way above and beyond any place I've been before. They text you everything you need to know. They check up on you periodically and you can easily text them when you need anything. The room itself is fine. It's bare minimum but at this price, that's what you expect. You have everything you need, bed, bath, fridge, microwave, instant coffee, cream and sugar. Oh and an ac unit. Great location as well, very near many things (we walked everywhere during our stay) Again though what really stood out is the receptionist/customer service

Staying here for two nights. Very conveniently located to restaurants. Aquarium and harbor about a 10-15 min walk. No elevator but staff happy to help you carry luggage if you need it. We were able to leave luggage in the morning before check in so we could go exploring. Room has everything you need for a good nights sleep. Rare to have a microwave and fridge which was much appreciated. Feels like a nice European boutique hotel.

I kept saying bathroom but I meant to say sink. Old world charm doesn't distract from old world architecture. No bathrooms in the room...that knowledge would have helped. it was clean. Small. Stairs that felt like mountain climbing. Good points, I didn't have to share a bathroom with a whole floor as it seemed pretty empty. I'm not sure why it feels like I was getting rushed out though. No lines. It's cute for a couple in love or a rogue on holiday. I could not say this was family oriented....family producing maybe on account if the smaller rooms.

It plane was canceled & they said they would refund the money as they should, but then they decided not to as their reason is their a small business. Well I'm not even a business I'm a single women who shouldn't be changed for a room that I was unable to show up for reasons out of my control. They did offer to give the deposit back well hmm yeah wouldn't you give me my deposit back anyways?! This business is ran poorly & will never get my business again & I will also be reporting to BBB for them not refunding my money knowing my plane was canceled. Bad management

Very cute boutique hotel. We needed a place to stay for cheap (since we were driving down from the Bay Area and would be sleeping for maybe 4-5 hours) before we docked the Ferry to Catalina Island early the next morning. This place was just down the street from the terminal and was under $100 for a night. The interior is a little outdated, but that's what give it that vintage feel. The only negative thing is that parking SUCKS, but you're one block away from what seemed like their "downtown" and nightlife which seems convenient if you have time to explore. Otherwise, everything

It is like a tourist hostel on steroids. A glamorous shared bathroom experience with a community kitchen perfect for making your own California cuisine tiny soufflés, my entire family stays here when they visit Long Beach. They are the safest and friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered. Be careful though, they might fall in love with your cooking.

Great hotel -- very happy with my 1-night stay here!
ROOMS: Cute and clean. Well-stocked with essentials (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, make-up remover wipes) as well as anything else you might need for convenience. We had a fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker (two K-cups included), a few types of tea, mugs, bowls, and utensils. The bed was super comfortable and the temperature controls worked flawlessly.
LOCATION: Great location. You are within walking distance to all the cool areas of LB. You can walk to Restaurant Row / Pine Avenue (I highly recommend King's Fish House) as well

Booked this hotel on hotels.com as a convenient location to get to San Pedro port the following morning for a cruise.
The location is great, there is 24 hours check in, thankfully!!! No worries for me as I became super delayed and would have been out of luck otherwise.
Cute room, shared bath but room comes with a sink and mirror so you are pretty set. I slept fantastically for the short stay I had due to my delayed plane.
The location is easy to find, convenient to downtown Long Beach and very central to have a fantastic time.
I would definitely stay again!

I won a free stay at the Hotel Royal from a contest they had on Instagram. Let me start off by saying how stoked I was because I never win anything! So thank you Hotel Royal for the free night stay.
The free night stay was very accommodating; they called me to book the room and gave me the room of my choice. The night before my stay I received a text from their virtual concierge to help me with check in. Upon arrival the gentlemen who worked at the front desk was helpful and kind to my boys who immediately drew all over the white board in the lobby.

Cute hotel. Similar to a hostel. Great location. Would skip if you have mobility problems. Lots of stairs.
We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and it was great. The hotel is a little hard to see from the road and we had a hard time finding somewhere to unload, but the location is really prime. It's walking distance from lots of shops and restaurants. It's in the downtown part of Long Beach, so it's quiet and less busy on the weekends.
The hotel offers a few types of rooms and we accidently booked one that had a shared bathroom. I was a little worried about the situation,
