Harold Finkle has been Your Jeweler, serving the capital region for over 85 years and three generations. After returning from service in World War II, Harold Finkle began his career in the jewelry industry as district manager of Rudolph Jewelers, overseeing seven of their forty-nine stores. Deciding to go out on his own, Harold, with the help of his wife Sarah, opened up a store on "the Ave, " Central Avenue in Albany, New York.

Shopping appointments are available for engagement rings, wedding bands, anniversary, birthday, and holiday gifts, custom designs and consultations. All Repairs, Watch Batteries, Ring Sizings, Rhodium, Drop Offs and Pickups, etc. are Curbside Services only.
All SERVICES will remain curbside only, no appointment required. SERVICES includes watch and jewelry repair, pearl restringing, appraisal services, cleanings and watch batteries. When you arrive in our parking lot, please follow the directions as outlined on our parking lot signage and call (518) 456-6800 to request service at your vehicle.
Many people are confused about how diamonds are priced. The best explanation is that asking for the price of a diamond is like asking for the price of a house. A real estate agent can't quote you a price for a house without knowing its size, condition, location, etc. This process is the same one used when buying a diamond.

After years of looking and wanting to upgrade my diamond with no success, I decided to check out Finkle jewelers. I knew they had been in business for a long, long time as I remember my Dad saying he wished he could purchase my mom something from there as he knew it would be supporting a family owned business. I received a Seiko automatic watch for my college graduation.
I went to Finkel's to get a new battery.
The woman behind the counter (I guess Mrs. Finkel)
replaced the battery and then forced the back onto the watch
destroying the mechanism beyond repair.
I should have listened to my parents when they told me not to
go there.....

My wife needed a watch battery replaced. I didn't want to go into the mall just for this, but we were driving along Central and passed this place. Upon parking, we saw a sign that said for small jobs such as this we had to call the store and they would come out and get it. In under 10 minutes or so the battery was replaced, the bill ($15) was paid, and we were on our way. It wasn't the cheapest watch battery job ever, but it certainly was fast and easy.

My search for the perfect engagement ring took me in and out of stores all over the Capital Region, the Hudson Valley, and even online. I found that when buying something as important as an engagement ring a store that would spend the time to educate me and work with me was important. I bought a diamond ring for my wife here 15 years ago. She was out of state and noticed that 2 prongs were missing and one was worn. She got it repaired, but the jeweler could not identify the 10 digit code on the girdle of the ring. We were worried about the integrity of the transaction. I brought it to Justin, who inspected and cleaned the ring and verified the serial number. When I attempted to give him money, he said, "I chalk it up to customer service." These were great people when Marty ran the show, and continue the tradition with Justin and his assistants.

Not only do they have beautiful jewelry, they also have wonderful service. Justin is very friendly and down to earth. He was patient with allowing us to try on as many rings as we needed in order to make a decision we were confident with. We never felt pressured. We bought an engagement ring and wedding bands here and could not be happier with our purchases. Every time we go back to get our rings cleaned, they warmly welcome us like family. We had a great experience with Harold Finkle. Daniel and Justin went above and beyond in working with me and my brother trying to get a charm bracelet for my mother for her 70th birthday, delivering the bracelet last minute to her home when our plans for getting it to her fell through. I would definitely use them again. They were attentive, flexible, and my mother loves the bracelet.

I am active duty military and was sent to NY to train some Soldiers. I have been looking for a heart shaped diamond for a while, so I thought I'd give this place a try. I am so glad I did. I had been looking at the bigger places in this town but happened upon this one. Justin has been very kind and I couldn't be happier! He was able to get me in a couple diamonds overnight to look at and at a reasonable price. You can't go wrong with the customer service. I'm not sure what the negative comments are about because I didn't experience any. He's even shipping my order
