Dr. Kathleen Carson, DDS, has been providing biological dentistry to patients in Los Angeles and surrounding areas for nearly two decades. About 15 years ago, she became intently focused on airway health and its effects on the entire body. Being a dentist, Dr. Carson has extensive knowledge of the airway, and its intimate connection with the development of the orofacial structure, including the upper dental arch, jaw, and jaw alignment.
Now, she strives to educate other medical professionals on ways to help their own patients who suffer from airway disorders, which have reached an epidemic proportion in our society today. Barbara is our myofunctional therapist with more than 40 years of experience. With Barbara's dedication, she has changed the lives of many patients throughout the years. Since the beginning of her career, Barbara has led workshops and lectures, helping educate medical and dental practitioners on using myofunctional therapy to treat orofacial myofunctional disorders.
My saga begins at birth, 8-15-1941. World War II had just taken my doctor away. My Mother was left with the old town family doctor who did not believe that an automatic C-Section was the choice of delivery for me as prescribed by my doctor due to a slight case of polio that my Mother had when she was a child, making it difficult for her pelvic bones to expand.
Myofunctional therapy isn't new, yet many dentists are still unfamiliar with it. Once they start offering it to their patients, though, they wonder how they could have ever provided top-notch care without it. It can improve speech clarity, enhance appearance, improve eating, drinking and sleeping habits, and help patients maintain good oral health for a lifetime.
One of the great things about the Internet is that it makes it possible to provide myofunctional therapy to those who don't have access to in-person therapy or have mobility, transportation or scheduling issues that make it hard to attend regular office visits. All it takes is a high-speed Internet connection and a good quality webcam (at least 1.3 mp resolution and 30 fps or better).

Dr. Carson and Timbrey have done their homework in conceptualizing and bringing to reality a health treatment concept that will become the future of dentistry. Dentistry is rightfully assuming its place at the literal center of health care, but few in the profession understand this. Kathleen and Timbrey understand this. They are integrating several modalities into a concept of holistic treatment which helps people better determine their own future health. Airway health is at the center of their model as it rightfully should be. Looking good and feeling good merge together in the care they are providing
