In The Light Performing Arts Center & Flex Theatre
We offer a full range of arts education including visual arts, music, theater, and dance. The students range in age from 2 to 75! We offer a scholarship opportunity for those who would like to participate but finances don't allow it. The lobby is large, calm, and parent-friendly, complete with WiFi!

We also run a professional dance company called "Unleashed" as well as our "All Out" theater company that are both based out of In the Light (ITL). It is designed to promote excellence and personal growth while encouraging arts in the surrounding community.
Services
School Closing Policy: In the Light will follow the Raymore Peculiar School District for snow closings. If there are an excessive amount of missed days due to snow or other weather - makeup classes will be scheduled at the end of the year. Missed and Makeup lessons: If you are going to miss a class and you know in advance, please let ITL know.
As a college senior in 2005, Charissa Fuchs was not only looking forward to finishing school, but also opening one of her own. So she spoke with her parents about her goal of opening a performing arts center. Within a few months, Fuchs founded In the Light Performing Arts Center. At her first location in Raymore, Fuchs established the core philosophy around which she built her school.
Our mission is to provide instruction to inspire those of all ages to meet their personal goals. Through our instruction, students will develop confidence, knowledge, and a skill set which will remain a positive influence for their lifetime. Please note: All dance classes have a strict dress code. Private classes have a separate set monthly rate.
Please note that you will not be mailed a physical ticket. You may print out your ticket purchase confirmation if you like, but our box office manager has a record of all sales and will assign you your seats according to category (Premium or General) when you arrive for the performance. This allows us to save crucial dollars that are better served being poured back into our arts education and outreach programs.
As a non-for profit organization we do rely on donations to offset tuition costs, new/updated equipment, however, you can also donate your time volunteering at fundraising events throughout the year. This year, we are working towards our most ambitious goal yet: to purchase a portable floor-to-ceiling digital backdrop display!

My daughter has been involved at ITL for going on 3 years. It has been one of the greatest blessings and joys in our lives to be a part of something so wonderful and inclusive. EVERYONE is amazing and puts all children first. There is genuine kindness and love and the obvious desire of the staff is for the kids to have fun and to grow no matter their speed or style of growth. We love In The Light❤

Great job of working with local children. Teaching the arts and directing shows for the public. They could really use help with fiance, not their words but mine. The help is volunteer. Worth the drive to see what these kids can do.

I attended the Saturday evening show on December 8th. It was an awesome fast moving production of the Nutcracker. The ladies that teach dance and theater productions really care about improving their students. You see the kids improve in technique and poise. Great show!

My girls have been at In the Light for 3 years now! We love love love this studio. Costumes are modest, dancers come in all shapes and sizes, prices are totally reasonable, and the atmosphere is kind and loving!!
My oldest daughter has anxiety issues and we started coming here in order for her to learn public speaking through theater and voice lessons. Not only has she improved speaking to others and being comfortable in public, but she is now enjoying large roles in the musicals and singing and acting in recitals.
My other two daughters are dancers and are able to take many classes for a reasonable

I'm so thankful to have found In the Light. My little girl has enjoyed the "Rompers" dance class for two years now! She was excited to be a ballerina just as she was turning 3 years old, and continues to LOVE dancing with her friends (both tap and ballet, with some fun tumbling as well).
As a mom, I appreciate the fun and age-appropriate dance instruction my daughter has enjoyed. The teachers are wonderful ladies who are great with children and their unique personalities! The class rates and recital fees are more affordable than other studios in the area, which is also a blessing.
We look forward

My daughter decided to try acting lessons in August, 2013 (at age 10). She got cast as the Lion in "The Wiz" and caught the acting bug! Since then, she has been in Joseph, Grease and Charlie Brown. To say she loves it there is an understatement. She currently takes Acting 1 and 2, Musical Theater, Hip Hop, Tap and Voice lessons. She considers the students and teachers at ITL to be a second family, and they treat her as such. The teachers at ITL really bring out any child's strengths and build their confidence. My daughter was once anxiety-filled and very quiet. I truly give ITL credit for building

We love In the Light! I was looking for a creative outlet for my then 3 year old daughter who loves to perform. She started out with a dance and a storytelling class and is now doing a musical. It has been a great and affordable experience for us. They have work and financial scholarships available as well. The staff treats everyone like family. My other daughter can't wait to start classes in the fall!
