The staff receives 5 star. Very friendly and helpful. We were there for 5 days. Centrally located, close to Stanford University Medical (10 minutes) and VA Hospital (7 minutes). Other reviewers said the rooms were large....#104 WAS TINY!!! You can have your morning coffee/pastry in very nicely decorated areas with some beautiful plants; great feng shui feeling. The pool really needs an acid wash.

Our room was clean and had so many things we didn't expect like a kitchenette, blow dryer, iron, ironing board, small fridge with a freezer, coffee maker, plenty of pillows, quiet, and the management/owners were extremely polite and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

We were greeted by a very friendly front desk employee (Neil) right when we got to the property. He was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. We rented the suite which had 2 rooms and 3 queen sized beds, a small kitchen and even a walk in closet. The property was clean and our room was comfortable. We felt it was a great value for the price we paid. There were beverages including coffee, hot chocolate, tea, juice and a packaged pastry available for breakfast. There is also a Corner Bakery practically next door. We would definitely stay again.

The staff is helpful and friendly and the rooms are clean. Plus it is withing easy driving distance from the Gamble Garden, Palo Alto hiking trails and Filoli Gardens.

I can't brag enough about this small Motel! The rooms are a bit on the smaller side but they are very clean & comfortable! They are dog friendly too! Beds are comfortable & pillows are plush! My husband took a shower this morning & found the tub to be slippery, even with the non slip strips already in the tub. He asked if they had a rubber mat for the tub which they did not have. Within 3 hours, the staff brought us a brand new non-slip rubber mat! The staff we have spoke to are all amazing! It's far from a 5 star, overly priced resort but I always prefer kind, thoughtful

Very impressed with the Stanford Motor Inn. From the reservation
( made directly), to the cleanliness of the room, the amenities and the helpfulness of the staff as. Also must comment on their friendliness. The stay was pretty much all we could ask for. Also loved how fresh everything smelled. For an older motel, they have done a wonderful job ensuring our stay was comfortable in every way.

We had a 1 bedroom king room (135), top floor, up front next to El Camino Real. Very recently remodeled. This was our 3rd or 4th stay here. We stay there when I need to go to Stanford for medical visits. It is close to food (Driftwood Deli!) and very close to Stanford. A very easy drive.

Our room was very clean, and even though it was next to the road, it was nice and quiet. It had everything you needed, a micro, refrig w/small freezer compartment and nice size bathroom with separate vanity area. One thing that was really great was the room had very good lighting! It is rare to find this

I clicked on a 20% discount window on Yelp because it was offering 20% off the rate on this business if you mentioned Yelp to them, but the click forced me to "check in" before actually checking in or making a reservation. Then the 20% offer disappeared, with Yelp showing the business as having a "check in," with the business denying knowing anything about the discount offer. They did offer me a $155 special rate before tax since it was a Sunday, which rate would normally be $180-something, before tax. I declined to stay there, but I can't expunge the check in, which should

Here's the thing. This is the 5th hotel I've been to in 12 days. Ashley and Raj who greeted me could not have been nicer. They were the most helpful people I have encountered. We arrived to a lovely room. It's older. It's artsy but we have really loved it. It's not old in a gross or rundown way. It makes me think of going to another country and staying in an old villa if that villa was on a super busy road in Palo Alto. The room was clean. I loved the bedding. The room is a good size for 2 adults and a child. The supplied toiletries smell and feel the best of all that we

It's an older motel, but well maintained and immaculately clean. There's a nice patio, coffee and juice in the office in the evenings. The breakfast is more than adequate.
There's a half-dozen restaurants and a convenience store within a block or two.
The big plus is the staff. You won't be treated better anywhere.

The caliber of customer service exceeded my expectations wildly! Clean rooms and up to nine free HBO channels was very nice to be able to relax with after a long day. Room was equipped with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and plenty of fresh fluffy towels! The lobby was adorable and the host was so helpful I am definitely come back to stay again. You get Juice, coffee and hot chocolate all day till 11 at night in the lobby along with a little array of chocolates for only a buck ! Unfortunately I did not get so see what breakfast was like but only because the mattress I slept on was like a

Had to travel to Palo Alto to have surgery at Stanford University Medical Center. The distance from the University and the hospital is within a two mile radius. The hotel staff makes you feel at home and are always so welcoming whenever you see them. The rooms fit four people comfortably and each room has a small kitchenette and full sized bathroom. The pool is nice to layout by, if the day permits and the flowers and plants they have blooming on the property is so picturesque. When I have a return appointment in six months I will definitely be contacting them for a room!

The first thing you realize at the Stanford Motor Inn is that it has the best characteristics of both a motel and a hotel. Flowers are covering the walls and the inside pool. Walls are hand painted by an artist who covered them with unbilievable "trompe l'oeuil" that my 7 year old daughter raved about. The team working there is very attentive to details and made my stay one more reason to stay there again when I visit Palo Alto.
The property is walking distance from Stanford University and a shuttle comes by regularly.
One weakness that has been now addressed was the TVs but they

I cannot imagine having a worse experience, and I have a pretty great imagination.

It all started when I needed to travel to Palo Alto on business. The company I work for has a corporate account with a nearby hotel, but they were full. I asked that they put me on the wait list and, in the meantime, booked a different room. Pickings were slim, but I found The Stanford Motor Inn through bookings.com. I signed up for a night and was feeling good.

Four days before my reservation I received a call from the other hotel stating that there was a cancellation. I took the slot and called the Stanford
