Marcia Proctor Hypnotherapy
My name is Marcia Proctor and I am a certified hypnotherapist serving the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area and beyond in-office or from Home via Tele-consult. I have additional certifications in Emergency Pain Management. I'm also a Certified Hypnotherapy Instructor, teaching students how to become a hypnotherapist.

For most people, depending on the issue, only a few sessions are all that is necessary to effect change. Some issues may require additional sessions. Since hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind rather than the conscious mind, change is affected at a far deeper level. Change is thereby rapid and does not require many, therapeutic sessions.
Services
Hypnosis is not a magic wand. It cannot "make" you do anything. However, it is a facilitator, a method through which you can tap the resources of your subconscious mind, and work to make the changes that you want to make. Many issues can be resolved or helped through the use of hypnosis and hypnotherapy.
When the word "hypnosis" is mentioned in everyday conversation, it seems to stir varied reactions in people. These responses range from disbelief to terror or even laughter. On the other hand, some people believe that hypnosis can work miracles. All these reactions stem from ideas and information that are untrue.
Hypnosis can help with managing pain. However, before working with a pain management client, I ask for a doctor's authorization. In hypnosis, the mind can dissociate from the site of the pain. The client can use self-hypnosis, which is taught during the session, to help diminish or redirect the intensity of the pain that they are experiencing.
Helping a student understand where the stressors are can help them better focus on their studies. Students who learn self-hypnosis and confidence building techniques have been able to improve not only their performance in class but have seen an improvement in grades. Some students can be negatively influenced by bullying.
Hypnosis can help with managing your weight. We do not call this "weight loss" due to the fact that your subconscious mind does not like the idea of "losing" anything. Instead, with Weight Management, we give the subconscious mind, a more palatable outlook on reducing your weight and gaining better heath.

Marcia told me to bring my pack of cigarettes because I would be saying goodbye to them and would never be smoking again. I thought she was full of it. I went anyway. I haven't smoked in 548 (as of this writing) days. This is all that needs to be said, 5 stars.

I had tried all the products to quit smoking and nothing worked for a long period of time. So I thought the only thing I didn't try was hypnosis. I have always been skeptical about hypnosis because of all crazy things that you see in the movies and people tell you but I really wanted to quit smoking so I started searching for a reputable Hypnotherapist which is when I came across Marcia. So I called her and when she told me her office was in Maryland I said well that won't work because I'm in Florida. She said we can make it work we can do a session over the phone. Marcia sent me

I've always had an immense fear of public speaking. When I say immense, I mean anxiety and panic attacks, multiple Xanax, shaking and actual stuttering when in front of a crowd of people. I went to see Marcia last summer when I was due to present an hour-long presentation in front of Owner's and Executives in charge of my company. I was petrified to have to speak not only for that long but in front of the people responsible for my continued employment with the company.

After an hour and a half session of hypnotherapy, I felt like a new person. I still felt that anxiousness and fear
