It was no accident that I went into nursing. I was drawn to it early in life. As the eldest of four girls often asked to take care of my younger sisters, I found that caring for others came naturally to me. I have the compassion to help people who are going through hard times. I then went on to obtain my Associates Degree Nursing License (ASN) in 1982 from Springfield Technical Community College.

Bedsores, also called pressure sores or pressure ulcers, occur when there is prolonged pressure on the skin causing injury, including damaging the underlying tissue. The primary areas where these sores arise is on the tail bone (coccyx), heels, hips, and ankle bones. When the patient is thin, the bones are prominent, and they have less cushioning around their bones.
