Services
Over thirty years ago, I first began repairing vacuum cleaners. I'd find machines that no longer worked or were discarded, bring them home to my garage, take them apart and then rebuild and repair them. Once I had them running like new, I'd sell them at the flea market on the weekends. I saved the money I made on these refurbished machines, and in 1985 I bought a small sewing machine and vacuum shop.
AAA Sew Vac East carries a full-line of cleaning and sewing supplies and accessories for most makes of machines. Don't waste your time running all over town looking for the belt or bag you need. You'll find exactly what you're looking for at a fair price when you shop with us. We also carry new and used vacuum cleaners and sewing machines.
At AAA Sew Vac East we take pride in everything we sell and repair. Our expert technicians can repair any vacuum cleaner you bring in. We understand that a vacuum cleaner is an investment and when something goes wrong, you want it to be resolved as quickly as possible. Many times people make the mistake of replacing a perfectly good vacuum when it stops performing, but sometimes a simple part replacement is all it needs.
By using a combination of surface agitation and suction, dirt is removed from both flat surfaces like linoleum or textured soft surface like carpet. The vacuum cleaner motor with the help of a small rubber belt causes the rotating brush to spin against the carpet, loosening small particles of dust, hair and other debris while the suction created by the motor's fan sucks the dirt into a hose that leads to a dust bag or container.
When vacuuming a hard surface like tile or linoleum, suction power alone will work. With nothing for the dirt and dust to cling to, suction removes it easily. This is also the case when cleaning rugs or furniture made of silk and cotton or hook rugs. But when you are vacuuming normal indoor carpeting, especially the type with lots of different lengths and textures of thread, suction power alone just isn't enough.

Not Good at all! This person Sam was the rudest person I have ever met in my life telling me that I cannot sew knit fabric on my sewing machine without using the stretch stitch. I said I have been sewing with knit fabrics on this machine for 30 yrs. Then he said I don't think I can fix this for you because you will blame me later. Just go home and read the book and maybe it will fix your problem!

Owner was very rude, I had to bring my vaccum to him twice in three months and when I brought it back the second time he insisted that he did not remember me while consistently trying to sell me one of his overpriced used vaccum cleaners, going so far as to proposition my friend during our business transaction. I also asked him about the quality of my brand of vacuum and if I should just upgrade, he told me that he could not tell me but only sell me a new one. also tried to take advantage of my elderly grandfather by charging for "repairs" but when I asked what was wrong with the vacuum and what

This place is worth the drive from anywhere. I had an old Vacuum that wouldn't work or turn on. Went to another place on Colorado Blvd closer to me. They wanted $125 bucks to check it out and do lots of stuff. Turned out my reset button was not pushed properly. Machine did need the rollers reset but it did not need a total overhaul. $75 and I was on my way with everything in perfect working order.

I stopped into AAA over the weekend to buy some bobbins and needles for my machine. $4.50 per bobbin and $10 for a 5-pack of needles. Well, let the buyer beware. I should have checked online first. I could have gotten 20 bobbins for $9 and 100 needles for $36. So much for supporting my local small business. Sheesh.

Sam helped get our vacuum back up and running after it stopped working. Fair prices and great work. With everything closing because of “COVid” my husband and I like to support small business even more now. But if you need any vacuum repairs go see Sam!
I would give him 10 stars if I could!

Enjoyed meeting Sam today, after all I have read about him in the reviews, he lived up to the hype! Just seems like a good guy that tries to get you something that works for you. I enjoyed buying my miele from him. Maybe I will be back for the big canister one, one day.

Sam was fabulous. I have an older vacuum I inherited from my parents that needed a new belt and brush. Sam got me the parts I needed and helped me reassemble my vacuum. This establishment has the charm of a small mom- and- pop shop and I will be using them for all of my sewing and vacuum needs from here out.

I took my Miele vacuum to AAA because it quit working during an interstate move. The owner seemed like a good guy but I was very disappointed in his recommendation to not spend money on fixing my Miele vacuum. I decided not to have AAA repair my vacuum since they wanted over $300 for the repair. It turned out to be the right decision since I had it repaired at Bobs Vacuum in Santa Barbara for a fifth of AAA 's quoted price. It turned out to be the brushes on the motor per Bobs not the motor itself as diagnosed by AAA. I am happy to still have my 20 year old vacuum still functioning in spite

Sam is the man! He is always very helpful and tries to give the best deal. It's not always cheap but he provides a great service. Since I took my surger to him, it hasn't had any problems and he even helped me re-thread it! Sam is good people and can count on my repeat business in the future!

What a great shop and owner! We first came in to dispose of an old typewriter, it wasn't salvageable. Sam promised to use its parts to repair others. We were so impressed with his interactions with other customers, we brought in our 2 old vacuums for some work. One just needed repair, which was prompt and excellent in quality. The other had a cracked housing, and he waited for us to see it to see if we wanted to try a repair. Once he showed us the problem, we decided to go for a new machine. He sold us the perfect replacement, and walked us through the features, making it seamless to use at home

My feed on sewing machine got knocked out of place and needed to be realigned, slight adjustment $69.95. I feel this is over priced. I also was not given an estimate when I brought it in as owner commented

I recently had to have my sewing machine repaired because something was up with the tension and I could not figure it out on my own. Of course I had several custom orders for the bibs/burp cloths I make, so Sam said he would take a look at it and let me know the potential turnaround time. I knew it was probably not a same-day fix (though the dreamer in me wished!) and Sam was honest with me from the start that it would probably be a week-ish. I returned once my machine was ready, and Sam showed me the sample stitches they did, and explained what was wrong with it. He was SO nice and thorough, and

This place is my go-to for vacuum and sewing machine repair. They even fixed my vintage typewriter. The guys who work here are very knowledgeable about the work they commit to, and do excellent, thorough work. I have never once been disappointed, nor do I forsee myself feeling that way in the future. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

I did something very dumb with my vacuum, and it wasn't working anymore. I brought it to AAA Sew Vac East and they fixed it up quickly and within the price range of their estimate. Looked brand new when I picked it up. Even carried it to my car for me. I hope to not need them again, but I would definitely go back!

Called ahead for walking foot for my Brother sewing machine. Not only did they have it, but the lovely owner suggested I bring in my machine so he could show me how to put it on & make sure it worked. We all know Amazon is not going to do that!!! Love this place!

I have been to AAA Sew Vac for sewing machine and vacuum repair. Sam got my old Bernina working better than it ever has. I was on the verge of buying a new sewing machine. I'm so glad I brought it in! Also, we had a vacuum that died. I brought it in and instead of charging us a lot to fix it, he contacted the manufacturer and got us a brand new one. I highly recommend this business to all of my friends.
