Wheldon Psychological Services
Dr. Wheldon is a licensed psychologist experienced in Clinical, Forensic, and Fire Psychology. At the core of the human experience are questions. Who am I? Who am I in relevance to others? We live our lives as an expression of that narrative. If you've found yourself struggling to navigate the challenges of life, let's work together to ask the hard questions and find ways to improve your quality of life.

I work with individuals, couples, and families while using evidence-based psychological interventions. Over the years, I have seen my clients break through old and unhealthy patterns to develop new perspectives and confidence for the future. I specialize in working with trauma-exposed populations, veterans, and first responders.
Services
Dr. Wheldon began her mental health career while working with children who had been diagnosed with developmental disabilities. She went on to further her experience within the community while serving as a school counselor with a private organization and a catholic school. Her forensic experience began within the Orange County jail system.
Insurance Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Although our office does not bill for insurance reimbursement, we can provide a "superbill" which will provide all necessary information for you to bill your insurance directly.

If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
One of the biggest challenges for people to access psychological services is travel. This is especially true in the Greater Los Angeles area. Wheldon Psychological Services utilizes HIPAA compliant video conferencing software that you can use on your computer or smartphone. If you are interested, please let the doctor know upon scheduling your therapy session.
Comprehensive evaluations give parents and caretakers the advantage of understanding their child's unique needs. Assessments are completed based on specific referral questions. Developmentally, children may not always have the language to articulate the various emotions they experience. From a behavioral perspective, they often act out what they experience internally.
Being a woman in today's society presents unique challenges. In my practice, I empower women to become the best version of themselves through identifying those things we do have control over and those we don't. Through individual sessions, we can explore personal values, goals, as well as healthy ways to manage adversity.

I've had a couple sessions with Kristen and found her to be very helpful. I was going through stress from work and life. I had also just moved back to the US after living in Asia for 5 years. It was a great experience and I wasn't comfortable moving back here. There was a lot of letting go I had to do and Kristen helped me sort through it. From therapy sessions to the assessments, I found it to be very helpful. I also felt very comfortable around her as well.
