Other reviewers need to either lower their expectations or raise their price point. I can't even believe I'm saying that because I'm BROKE, but this place took me and my dog and my less-than-perfect credit and my weird circumstances. We moved here so my daughter could go to Allderdice, and there is nowhere else in the district with 3 bedrooms for $1245. We are practically in Schenley Park, so there's one of those xfinity community free hotspots so close to the apartment it might actually be mounted to the building,,, so we don't have to pay for wifi. Also there&apos

Phil the maintenance guy has been great at handling an issue that had been on going for months (the company had promised someone NUMEROUS times and even if someone did come nothing would be accomplished) but unlike other maintenance workers Phil actually showed up to do the job when he said he would and fixed the issue quickly and kept me in up to date with phone calls and texts about my work order

It's okay for the price, there definitely are problems every once in a while but they do address them. For the school district, price, and the balcony which I LOVE, it's worth it. People in the building are trustworthy, I haven't had any boxes stolen at all and pets of all sizes are welcome. I feel like th heating bill might be high but I think sealing the windows should make the cold months not too terrible.

I had been searching for an apartment in Pittsburgh for over 6 months, when I met Arabelle with Nexus. Arabelle was so personable and kind, she listened to what I was looking for and met me at several apartments. I ended up renting the first property she showed me, after she mentioned it was still available!
She is a rockstar and Nexus has been a great management company!

I rent a parking spot at Maryland Ave at Shadyside, so I can go to work at Pitt. Things happening twice already so I couldn't keep quiet.
The first time.... A car was parking at my spot when arrived there before 8am on a Monday. I called the number on the sign hanging on the building of the tow truck, they said they no longer work with Nexus, since Nexus wants the tow company to pay the tow fee. So why Nexus didn't update the information?!! Waited until 9am when the office was open, called and was given another tow company information, called twice from 930am to 11am, always on the way

1. Arabelle, my real estate agent, was extremely helpful & professional from my inquiry of the apartment to moving in. Couldn't have been more happy with entire process as well as the unit I'm living in. Thanks Arabelle!
2. I had an issue with water leaking and Fran and Vinny came out quickly to seal up the problem. They went above and beyond the issue and sealed up any other possible causes of concern while being knowledgeable of situation, friendly, and professional.

This is a review for Fran and Fran only! She did a great job on my place in Squirrel Hill. Great maintenance services--once they get to you.
Nexus as a company....eh....I didn't have AC for first month and many maintenance issues were delayed heavily due to a labor shortage. They did not respond to an email regarding rent reduction or reimbursement.
For being a more luxury lot in Squirrel Hill South (not cheap), you'd expect better. The dumpster area is normally pretty nasty -- I don't think they recycle.

Not the cleanest place I have lived, but I was able to take care of the cockroaches and mice myself. Likewise I had to seal the AC unit they put in a cutout in the wall, since they did not seal it upon installation. There was a ton of paint on the floor as well, I was able to clean that off without much difficulty. I only had to interact with management once while returning keys lost by another tenant, and they were strangely condescending, saying something along the lines of "Just mail them in, as an adult you should be able to do that". Other than that, they tried to make me pay for

I have had a great experience with Nexus. Their maintenance work has been top-notch, they are very responsive and the house was spacious and affordable. Our security deposit was initially wrongly charged for a couple of items, but they cleared it up after they got our email. I will highly recommend Nexus to anyone.

Arabelle was my real estate agent in my process and my second apartment w Nexus. She was very helpful and informative throughout the process from viewing to signing the lease, getting my keys, and even making some necessary changes to the lease. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a new place.

DISGUSTING real estate company!!!
How are they even allowed to be in business!! Such low class shoddy work on all their buildings that now they claim to be working over time with staff shortage. Maybe if they did decent work then they wouldn't have to overwork. Have to call/submit request almost every other week for their dirty shoddy work. Now the central air isnt working and its been super hot outside &inside the house past 2 days with zero response from them. Uploaded a pic as proof that its so damn hot in this house. 86 fkn degrees INSIDE the damn house. Good god! This is the company

So far I've had nothing but great experiences with Nexus. My real estate agent Arabelle was more than helpful and very responsive. I'd been looking for apartments for about a month before she came along and after that, everything was nice and quick and easy. The apartment was gorgeous and all my issues so far have been taken care of!

I recently moved into a Nexus property, and the experience thus far has been a nightmare. Upon move-in, the apartment was filthy. We had to stop the moving process to clean the floors, counters, etc. This is especially disappointing as Nexus lists extravagant move-out fees if the tenant does not perform thorough cleaning. In addition, there were multiple items in the apartment either not functioning or not finished. The worst being the central air unit. During the hottest stretch of the year thus far, we had to wait over a week to get someone out to replace it. There was no offer of providing us

All I can say is Anthony is their saving grace! What started out as a 2 day project turned into 5. Anthony softened the blow by staying in constant contact which is key when the work should have been done months ago! Anthony is definitely an asset to an otherwise mediocre company.

Renting a parking spot in Oakland from one of their apartment buildings. I paid up front pre COVID to ensure my space for when I got back to work. They gave no reprieve in parking space rent (I am literally renting a piece of asphalt). I have put out $450 already and when I use the spot for the first time in paying rent for three months, someone is parked there. I contact Nexus and they tell me to call a tow. While they are prompt in getting back to you, that is all I can say positive. I should not have to monitor a space I contracted to have available to me. What am I paying for???

Always prompt and thorough service.
Management is very responsive too.
This is a newer, renovated building in an area with much, much older buildings. It's a quiet neighborhood, and one block from many stores.

Renting with Nexus Real Estate has been the worst experience in my eight years of renting. The main concerns I have with Nexus Real Estate is the low effort of their maintenance team, and the indifference the property managers have towards their properties.

Upon moving into my apartment in January 2019 the heat did not work a problem that Nexus would fail to provide a long term fix for and my heat would go out constantly through the cold weather. The maintenance team was largely unhelpful in my efforts to get the heat fixed and went home at 4 PM without fixing me heat despite the temperatures

I will not recommend Nexus to anyone. The service they provide is very poor and they charge us for random things. Save yourself from these incompetent idiots. I wish I had the option to choose zero star rating.

Had to create a yelp account just to write this review. The email below should tell enough of a story but if not reference the video of the bugs crawling around. The only good thing about this company is Corey the maintenance guy who is a gem.

Basically, the apartment was filthy upon move in. We ended up dishing out $300+ for their mistake and Nexus only reimbursed $50. Send them the email in this review and will update my yelp review depending on their response.

I contacted Nexus real estate on March 18 and spoke with a gentleman. I'm in the process of relocating from Philadelphia and I really needed somebody's assistance to help me find a place, he seemed irritated and annoyed to have to answer my questions and seemed to want nothing to do with me. He offered up no information on his own, and answered me with one word responses. He didn't explain the process of going about getting not finding a place, just simply said here's the cost and no refund. I had to just get off the phone as he was so irritating and unhelpful. Why do you work

I've lived in their apartment on Holden street for about 4 years and to anyone reading this, please PLEASE avoid renting this place. The building is so old that there is no amount of repair & maintenance that can make this place live-able.

1) The building has terrible insulation and heating system. No matter how much you crank up the heater during winters, I can still see my own condensation from breathing inside my own unit. You're literally shivering all winter long.

2) any time there is rain or snow, the ceiling starts to leak these nasty rusty yellow water. The leaks fall above

Overall, my time renting with Nexus real estate was fine, but I most likely would not recommend them and would try to find an independent landlord who cares more about their tenants.

The good:
Relatively quick reply when it came to service requests. We had some issues with the chimney and water which were fixed within a reasonable time.
The apartment we rented had decent renovation. If you were to look at the details, you'd see that it wasn't the best job but the old space did seem more new than it was.

The bad:
Maintenance requests are taken somewhat seriously, neighbor complaints

I have had bees coming into my apartment through my window that has had a hole in it since the day I moved in, a month ago. Nexus has been no help, ignoring my messsages, sending maintance once and then never having the window replaced like the maintance guy said they would. I have been stung twice and I have probably killed about 20 bees that I have seen in the apartment thus far. I will NEVER rent from them again. Terrible realitors, unfriendly, not willing to help. They should NOT be in business.

Do not rent from Nexus! Especially not any of their apartments in Pittsburgh. The rental company is SUPER unprofessional and they unfairly charge you fees pretty much whenever they want. Also, be careful-- they ask you to resign your lease 8+ months before your lease is up and when you decide to not sign again, they begin showing your apartment immediately. I don't know about you, but having to show my apartment multiple times over the span of 8 months is a bit ridiculous.

Although the properties are cheap and seem like a good option to save money as a student or newcomer to Pittsburgh,
