Southwoods is a four week, co-ed, sleepaway camp located in the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate, New York. Situated on pristine, spring fed Paradox Lake, where the majestic mountains of the Adirondack Park slope to our water's edge. Children feel safe to explore and grow in our interactive and exciting four week summer camp experience.
They are immersed in a wonderful variety of outdoor, waterfront, arts and sports programs. Our cabins and activities are facilitated by a handpicked, mature and motivated staff who teach, inspire, comfort and foster life-long memories and friendships.

Southwoods is located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, just 15 minutes from the renowned "high peaks." Situated on picturesque Paradox Lake, a pristine spring-fed lake, where the majestic mountains of the Adirondack Park slope to its waters edge. Southwoods offers an interactive and exciting camp program with a masterful blend of arts, sports, outdoor and waterfront activities.
We continue to create new opportunities at Southwoods for our campers to stay involved, have fun with friends, and experience camp to its fullest. Our mature, caring and skilled staff provides campers with an environment that allows them to feel challenged and grow. Activities range from group sports and unique games to those that encourage children to express themselves as individuals.
Southwoods summer camp activity fields and courts encompass all the sports and games any child could want. There is always something happening on the playing surfaces of camp, whether it's an early morning tournament, activity period instruction, intercamps, bunk games, elective skill progression, free play fun, or an evening activity like our "Varsity Under The Lights" Intracamp sport program.
Creative & Performing Arts Program at Southwoods - Innovative activities to meet the needs of every camper! Traditional Arts + Crafts with new woodworking and ceramic facilities. Media Center that's home to videography, photography, and newsletter. New A/V room dedicated to theatre productions and Radio elective!
Located on pristine spring fed Paradox Lake, the Southwoods Waterfront is a sight to behold. The camp program holds safety and security at the highest of standards and this alone allows for campers to have limitless fun. Between the Ski dock, Sail dock, Swim dock, and Slide dock the waterfront is always filled with activity.

They heads of the camp treat young staff horribly. Steve the owner of the camp recently fired a J1 worker, who is not from this country and was here with a work visa. He told the young worker that they only had an hour to pack and drove him to Schroon, the local town, with no recourses to get back to their home country.

It is a pleasure to share a five star review on Southwoods Surgical Hospital.It was by far the most positive hospital stay I have ever had.The men and women that took care of me deserve all praise possible.The nurses,aides and cleaning staff were fantastic.I was never made to feel like I was taking away from any other duties they might have had.They were all attentive and never failed to respond within 2 minutes of a call.I have,and will continue to recommend this fine place.In addition,forget anything you may have heard or experienced about "Hospital Food".This was more like a great dining experience

This is one of the best hospitals in the area, and possibly the entire state. The staff is top notch, doctors are amazing, and the hospital itself is extremely modern. From start to finish, they make you feel like a VIP, ensuring your stay is comfortable and as painless as possible. I highly recommend Southwoods Surgical Hospital for anyone’s surgical needs, they are simply the best!

THIS hospital's standards set standards! But no one is even close! If you need surgery THIS is the place to go! Super friendly responsive staff. Great food. (And I mean REALLY great!) Other hospitals need to do a field trip here and see what it's all about. And if you need a job. If you get in here. You'll be happy too. No grumpy staff here!

This is an Amazing place for children and staff to grow and become their best selves... So many campers leave Southwoods after making new friends, finding new activities they love, and making the most amazing memories. I 100% believe in the power of summer camp and how it benefits the whole hold. Southwoods is a magical place I'm not surprised they have the top camper and staff retention rates.
