Campers tell it like it is in these teen testimonials. Hear why teenagers from all over the world join us each summer and what keeps them coming back. Learning from disappointment and frustration When a camper wants to call home after only being there for a few days, they usually ask their parents to come and get them.
They are tired from walking; they don't love the rustic camping lifestyle; they miss their cell. I asked my wife while we were walking our dogs the other day, why I didn't make OTC a non-profit years ago, and she said "you were always so busy planning for summer." I thought, "oh, yeah, I remember that, " but if I knew then what I know now, I would have focused.

Each summer 60 or so adults gather in the Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts at Odyssey Teen Camp to live in community, work hard, and help teenagers accept themselves for who they are. We work long, tough hours and change lives every day-while having a lot of fun! Here's a little bit about our dedicated core staff below, who return year after year to help us run OTC.
Travel by Car: Odyssey Teen Camp is located in Tolland, MA; 2.5 hours from NYC and 2 hours from Boston. The large majority of our campers are dropped off and picked up at camp by their families. Please use 1266 East Otis Road, Tolland, MA 01034 in your GPS to get to camp. Please try to arrive on time to help us meet our goal to warmly welcome each teenager to Odyssey Teen Camp.
With over 50 incredible activities to choose from, there's no such thing as a boring day at OTC. We offer activities for teens who love to sing, dance, paint, swim, hike, climb, play sports, fantasy games and so much more! We even offer some unique and extraordinary activities that you may have never tried before.
Campers will store the majority of their belongings in suitcases that can slide under the bed. These suitcases need to be no taller than 13.5 inches to fit under the beds. Each bunk has two small shelves and hooks on the side of the bed for hanging towels, daypacks, and laundry bags.
All pods have a small pavilion or tent for group-hangs during "Pod Time" where campers might be singing, listening to music, playing Magic cards, reading, or relaxing in the pod hammock.Pods also have a bathhouse with a few sinks and 2-4 bathroom stalls. Showers are located in the shower house (a 5-minute walk from the pods) - so campers should bring shower caddies to transport their soap, shampoo, towels, etc.

(Parent) I'm so excited that my daughter (age 15) will be going back to Odyssey for her second year of camp. She attended for 3 weeks in 2021 and made great friends and will be going for 4 weeks this summer.
Odyssey is a place where your teen will get to have experiences with new friends in a camp with kind and creative staff. Staff has always been kind and responsive to questions by email and helpful with info. My daughter did not have prescriptions so I can't speak to that concern.
(Teen) I had a great time! The first few days were kind of rough for me, but once I adjusted it was really fun

My 12 year old daughter stayed for one week and is already talking about "when I go back next year". It was her first time at an overnight camp. Although she said the first few days were a hard adjustment, she stuck it out and ended up having a great time. She made good friends, participated in a lot of activities, and overall had a very positive experience. Big thank you to all of the staff and counselors!

My 15-year-old just returned this past weekend from OTC. I feel like it's the first parenting "win" I've had in many years. My son was not particularly thrilled about going to a new place without knowing a soul but I knew that challenge alone would be beneficial. What I didn't know was the PROFOUND sense of community he would experience.
I picked up my camper after 1 week of no contact and was thrilled to see him so happy. OTC provided the experience, the community, and the setting he needed to thrive after a year of pandemic combined with adolescence. The location was gorgeous and I hear the

My kid attended session 4, 2021 (just picked her up today), and she LOVED the camp! When asked why, she said "the community, the friends I made, and the counselors are really really really nice!" I'm so happy she was able to go, especially after spending more than a year basically in isolation because of Covid. The camp director and counselors were so welcoming, and the activities were perfect for a kid like mine. It's not a super traditional camp, but my kid is not a super traditional kid, so it was a perfect fit. She's excited to go back next year, and I'm happy she loved it so much! We came

My child met so many great friends at this camp and felt very validated/nurtured in their experience. The campers and counselors are joyful, kind and welcoming. The choices for activities included quiet or action packed. My child grew emotionally and learned more about their inner strength and abilities. My child took their first solo airplane trip to get home. The camp counselors, nurses and the directors made sure my child was safe and cared for. If your child is a creative, non-conformist… they will probably enjoy this camp experience.

Quite easily the best three weeks of my life, though most kids didn’t like it at all, it was absolutely amazing, the community, the activities, everything. 1000000/10, as a 15yr old it was eye opening and welcoming in all different ways. The councilors were so caring, funny and understanding, and I made life long friends. ❤️

My child attended teen camp and did not enjoy it. She felt as though the counselors were inattentive and weren’t properly trained. She told me that she asked the counselors several times if she could contact me or my husband in order to go home since she was really struggling and was plainly put; miserable. I respect that it’s complicated and certainly not easy to care for 200+ teens, but I feel that they could of thought this through more and and better trained their staff. My daughter also felt like there weren’t many activities and that campers were expected to entertain themselves. I

My daughter actually called and asked me to come get her after 3 nights at this camp, so I brought her home. I'm still giving the camp 5 stars. The camp does a fantastic job with a group of kids that often have anxiety and other challenges. My daughter has always been homeschooled and had never spent so much time in a large group, but she wanted to experience camp. We knew she may not make it the whole week but we gave it a try.
The counselors did a great job keeping her calm and helping her enjoy the
activities. She learned some new skills and came home with the phone number of a new friend

I picked up my child on July 31, 2021 and they were absolutely glowing. I am so grateful for this experience for my child. His counselor delivered my child directly to me upon my arrival with a lovely postcard thanking and praising him for the week. The director sent multiple emails during the week letting us know how camp was going overall. We got photos periodically on the "Waldo photo platform" which made us all feel more comfortable. Meds were handled in an organized fashion. As we left, they gifted us some Odyssey Camp Swag too. This camp is organized, heartfelt and amazing. My very interesting

My daughter loved Odyssey Teen Camp! She returned today after a two week stay and had lots of happy stories about her experience. She loved the activities, the staff and the other campers. She made a lot of new friends and I’m so glad she was able to have such a positive social experience after such an isolating year. I met several of her counselors at pick up and they were all super friendly and fun and really made her feel at home. Many thanks to the counselors and staff for providing such joyful environment!
