Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club
Welcome to Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club (MBYC) located in Bellevue WA. Located just off of Main Street in Old Bellevue. Our Clubhouse and docks are located on Lake Washington. MBYC was founded in 1946 by a group of boaters who wanted to form a club of like-minded boaters. The club was built with a can do attitude and by people who volunteered their time and talents to form one of the premier Yacht Clubs in the area.

Our members continue to volunteer and actively participate in maintaining the club for our cruising, and social events.
Services
Like many of the Northwest yacht clubs, Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club had to struggle to get established. Our struggle did not begin until after World War II. During the war years, fuel was rationed and boating was severely curtailed because of the war effort.

There were defense installations and industries around Lake Washington, such as the Sand Point Naval Air Station, the Renton industrial complex and the Houghton Shipyards, so all civilian boat traffic was strictly monitored. All boat operators had to be registered with the Coast Guard and carry a photo ID card.
Local boating enthusiasts founded Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club (MBYC) in Bellevue, Washington in 1946. MBYC m embership affords you many boating privileges and social opportunities while gaining an appreciation for the marine environment of the Pacific Northwest. Although a primary focus is on the boating interests of its members, you need not own a boat to join.
MBYC's business and administrative affairs are handled by a Board of Trustees and four elected bridge officers comprised of the Commodore, Vice Commodore, Rear Commodore and Fleet Captain. The club has one full time employee, its caretaker/chef. Chairpersons volunteering from the general membership head all social and operational committees and events throughout the year.
Welcome to Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club located on the shores of beautiful Lake Washington in Bellevue. Since 1946, MBYC has offered moorage and social and educational activities to its 630+ members. MBYC prides itself on its member participation and 'can do' spirit which make us one of the premier Puget Sound yacht clubs.
MBYC is run by volunteers. This keeps the costs low, but more importantly, by working together we form a community. When you work on a committee or crew with someone, you will get to know them. Different people participate at different levels, but everyone is expected to participate in running the club.

The park that has been developed and the beachfront that is now provided is absolutely beautiful. It is very disappointing that dogs are not allowed in this park, how many people own dogs and how many of those people pay taxes that helped to pay for this park and continue to pay for this park?

Great location and even better people. The facilities are wonderful. The only thing lacking from a visiting person point of view was no shower facilities at the clubhouse. But not a deal breaker if you have one on board your own yacht/boat. Good space, huge kitchen area, great for events.

Great club with friendly, knowledgeable members. These folks are down to Earth, which is evident in the volunteerism that is displayed.

It had been said that the best accessory for your Boat is a yacht club. I totally agree. MBYC is an amazing resource with amazing members. The clubhouse is iconic and located in a primo spot. The outstations and club rendezvous will keep you busy all over Western Washington and British Columbia.
