STEEPWORLD Climbing & Fitness is a locally owned and operated indoor facility in Billings, Montana. We love climbing & fitness and sharing it with our community! HVAC system with UV light air filtration and high turnover rate with excellent air movement. In the spring of 1986, Jim Rott did his first technical roped climb of Devils Tower and the Needles of South Dakota near his home.
These experiences changed his life's path forever. Vocation and education became facilitators to the end goal of "more climbing". His love for all things climbing in time gave life to SteepWorld climbing gym and retail shop in Billings, MT in 2005. His passion for his chosen vocation as the owner & operator of a climbing gym gave him the stage to hone his skills and gifts.

Services
Monthly memberships are billed to a credit card or checking account on the 1st of each month. They are month-to-month memberships with no cancellation fee. Membership changes need to be made by the 28th of the month prior. Freezes are $10/month per member, $20/month maximum for families.

No experience is required. This class is for those wanting to learn the basics of rope climbing. Looking for a refresher or are new to climbing, this class is for you! Knots, communication, belay technique (Gri-Gri, or approved assisted breaking devices), climbing ratings explanation, and safety will be covered.
The ropes and gear in the gym are conveniently hanging in place whenever you come to climb. That's not quite how it works in the great outdoors. First off, you need to get to the top via leading to the anchors or accessing from an easy spot elsewhere. Once there, you'll need to know a bit about anchors.
Our trained coaches will utilize off-the-wall training and climbing-specific coaching to take these climbers to the next level improving climbing fundamentals through better technique, problem solving, & strength! While rental equipment may be used (available at all times for Rec Team members), team members are strongly encouraged to own their own!
Get your kid active all summer long! At STEEPWORLD Climbing & Fitness, our experienced camp counselors will engage the campers in a variety of activities that will challenge your child's limits and increase their self confidence. STEEPWORLD Summer Camps will take your kids on a mountain top adventure and provide an awesome opportunity for campers to build new relationships, reach collective goals, and climb to new heights!

Positive: Professionalism, Quality
This place is great for taking our son and nieces and nephews! There is a good variety of different climbs for new and experienced climbers and the kids get worn out! I appreciated the staff checking our harnesses we brought from home to ensure they were not worn or frayed.

I was visiting so I got a day pass - it cost me $23 for a day pass, shoes rental and a chalk bag. Value for money is 👌. I only bouldered and they had 2 sections - one in the ground floor and another at the 2nd floor. The first floor section was enough for me but wouldn't mind them adding a section in the future. Staff were friendly and the facilities were really clean. One thing to note is that they don't require masks as of May 2021 - this might be new to some people visiting.

We were in town for a visit and Steepworld was recommended by some friends. We had a BLAST! The staff was friendly and amazing, the facility was extremely clean, and my family and I thought this was the best part of the trip! I wished we had this in our town, we would be there all the time. It's also very affordable for family fun and such a great workout. My kids absolutely loved the experience, thank you!

I can't say enough great things about this gym. The problems are plenty and unique. They have a climb for children and problems for the extremely advanced in bouldering, top roping, and lead climbing options. They also have a nice gym area upstairs and a plethora of unique holds. I came in for a few weeks from New York and even though this gym is smaller than my gym back Home, they utilize their space way better. They're retail section is also stocked with quality products. I bought a bunch of ice screws. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. They were super nice to me and seamed
