Dr. Ronald Jessup DMD, PC is the owner of Gentle Family Dentistry, located off Lee Highway in Bristol, Virginia. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1996 and opened Gentle Family Dentistry in early 2000. Dr Jessup is widely recognized for his knowledge of industry products, new technology methods, devices and procedures.
Whether you need a complete exam and cleaning, a full-mouth restoration or anything in between, we promise to provide you with exceptional care as we enhance the natural beauty of your smile. Below are just some of the many procedures and services we regularly provide to our patients - with a gentle touch and stunning results.
Digital radiography (digital x-ray) is the latest technology used to take dental x-rays. This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of x-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. Digital x-rays reduce radiation 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental x-rays.
A beautiful, healthy smile that lasts a lifetime is our ultimate goal when treating patients. Your personal home care plays an important role in achieving that goal. Your personal home care starts by eating balanced meals, reducing the number of snacks you eat, and correctly using the various dental aids that help control the plaque and bacteria that cause dental disease.
Regular dental check ups are essential for maintaining excellent oral hygiene and diagnosing potential problems, but they are not a "fix-all" solution. Thorough oral homecare routines should be practiced on a daily basis to avoid future dental problems. Periodontal disease (also called gum disease and periodontitis) is the leading cause of tooth loss in the developed world, and is completely preventable in the vast majority of cases.

I have been due for an appointment for literally forever now and I have called and scheduled one and have even mention the severe pain my tooth ache is causing I’ve even been to the er for antibiotics and it didn’t help! EVERY TIME I GET AN APPOINTMENT THEY CALL RIGHT BEFORE IM SUPPOSED TO GO AND PUSH ME BACK OUT ANOTHER 2 or 3 MONTHS, they have done this 3 time and I literally can not count on this dentistry anymore.

Not a great experience for me. Felt the drilling after 2 separate shots of Novocaine during filling. Still feeling sensitivity pain in my left filling 3.5 months later. Canceled my right filling appt and my new dentist took 3 xrays and couldn’t find a cavity. Glad I cancelled. Spoke to Gentle about my issues and won’t be back.

Can't say enough about the wonderful staff here. From the receptionist to DrJessup, pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, you name it. Grand daughter was terrified after a really bad experience at another office. They worked with finding a solution, and after today ,fears were calmed. Thank you to everyone there and a big thank you to Carolyn, appreciate you so much.
