My husband and I set up an appointment to open an account. We were sent an email confirmation by the gentleman we talked to on the phone. We show up for our appointment and are told by a younger gal that they are short staffed and they don't open accounts on Saturdays. I try explaining that we were informed they are short staffed but were able to schedule, to which she stated "it's not my problem! We care about our customer but I can't assist you". She said she was going to check inside and find out who we talked to. She came back to the locked door and asked me for my name and number and told

I recently returned to Wakota, in February, just before the covid19 lockdown. I have had difficulty with my account and have not been able to talk to anyone or even have my email and phone calls returned. My hopes are that once this nonsense is over they will behave in a manner I have experienced with Credit Unions in the past. We'll see.

As I am unable to give no stars they get their one. I have been banking with Wakota since long before they changed to their nifty new name. They WERE a nice place to do your personal banking but recently they have become awful. If you enjoy being ignored by the financial institution where you bank then by all means you may enjoy Wakota. For the first time in nearly thirty years I find myself looking for somewhere else to do my banking. Please don't apologize here for my negative experience like you have so many others, we all know it is not genuine.

I've been banking here since I was a teenager, and I have zero regrets. The staff is super helpful, the rates are better than you get at commercial banks, and their fee structure is relatively lenient, in case you, say, accidentally forget to transfer money from savings to checking for a big purchase. They're not always at the forefront of online services, but everything else about them makes it worth it to be a little patient.

My experience with Wakota, unfortunately, was not very good. They often do not return calls or call back several days after they say they will. Programs like mobile deposit can take months to set up. And, when i was finally "eligible" for that service, it took almost a week and multiple calls to them for it to get set up. They also do not have 24/7 customer service. So, if you find yourself in a restaurant after hours, and your card is being declined, even though you have plenty of money in your account, you will not reach anyone to work it out. I would not recommend.

I've been banking with Wakota sense 2010... I love it here! I wish they were more common and different places then just 1 city and I also wish that we could use more ATMS then just the "allpoint" one's and not get charged $3.50 for a users fee... But otherwise if there are more than one "allpoint" ATMs around it would be just fine...

Best banking experiences I have ever encountered in my entire life. Been a member for about 5 years now and I have never had a negative experience. I would recommend them over and over again and have sent many people there for loans and simple banking and never heard one gripe. I give them 6 stars out of 5. I have banked with Wakota for 10+ years now and have to say the quality of service has declined so much in the past 3 years that I will be taking my business elsewhere. The security measures are so strict, I can't even get access to money in my own accounts. Latest example: debit card was declined on a Friday afternoon after the office was closed,. Called in to the call center and was told I needed to call during open hours which I did on Sat. Was sent back to call center because noone was available at the branch office where I was informed my security information was incorrect so they could
