Beware! In bad weather this business will open but will not so much as shovel or salt their walkway, let alone their parking lot. They’re too cheap to pay a service and too lazy to do it themselves.
I’ve watched dozens of cars get stuck the last few days, a poor UNFI semi truck has been digging himself out for the last 4-5 hours with no end in sight and with no help whatsoever from the business. It’s pretty dangerous considering they are directly on a major highway, I saw the poor guy fall from his truck from exhaustion and get covered in the snow from the plow while trying to clear his

Wow. The food at this little place is incredible. We got the when in Rome burger which was easily the best burger in Bellingham. Also, biscuits and gravy we're delicious and the coconut curry soup was great. It's a bit of a weird convenience store and gourmet sandwich place. Selection is quite good for it's tiny footprint.

Stopped in for lunch after picking fruit, flowers and veggies down the road. This store is great it has everything and is not over priced. Carries a lot of local stuff and the food is amazing.
Got cheeseburgers and the special salad. This was an AMAZING burger. And the salad was so good I thought about getting one to go for later.

The double cheese burger was good, I really liked freshness of the toppings and ithere enough of them to build a great burger, the burger sauce was so good i didn't need ketchup.
I got the coleslaw as a side and it was better with each bite.. A little different than most but not over the top,, i didn't care for the bun mucj but it was ok

What a fun little find! They have a little of literally everything. I got some cute little fresh herb starts, lettuce starts and arugula starts. My partner got some beer and snacks. We found some local organic ground beef and other local delights. If you are exploring Whatcom County like we were today and you happen upon this secret gem, make sure you stop! Thank you for your cozy and warm shop! We will be back!

Excellent little historic gem along Hwy 542. We stopped in today for lunch, had a great burger and a well made hot mocha. I wasn't expecting espresso drinks to be available, so that was a nice bonus. Grass fed burger was tasty; also, for those of you allergic, they do offer a gluten free bun as well. The cashier and cooks were all quite friendly and they even have some indoor seating if you're dining in. Just a cool place to chill out in a 100 year old establishment, eat good food and talk to nice people; a very PNW experience. Highly recommended!!

I was disappointed by their wine selection especially the whites. Store smelled like fresh bread baking.
Wish they had more honey sticks.
Beer must be the best seller. How can you supply the visitors to the Deming Log Show ?
Parking is really bad with huge potholes and then you have to wait for traffic. Poor planning on parking and access to the store.

Fresh coffee, bottled water, beer, juice...lots of drink options here at the Rome Store. This place seems like what an old time general store was like back in the wild west. A super friendly dude was running the shop when I stopped in...definitely worth stopping by here on your way to Mt. Baker or back to Bellingham.

Finally real Philly Cheese Steaks are back! These folks used to work in the Philly Cheese Steak place on Lakeway and cordata. We haven't been able to find a really good cheese steak since. Now we can. Tried it for the first time the other day and WOW! Its just a counter in the Rome store on Mt Baker hwy. If you are out that way going to or coming from the mountain stop and get one of these cheese steaks! I know i will be back!
